Our room was very clean, housekeeping came acery day and the staff were all very friendly. The location is excellent, very near wonderful restaurants and cafés.
Casa Altata was a tranquil and lovely getaway! Staff was so friendly, rooms were fantastic, location was perfect. Would absolutely recommend staying here for anyone visiting CDMX!
This small hotel was cute. The staff super friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. It’s a perfect hotel for someone who is working remotely since it has a fully equipped, attractive and spacious living/work space on every floor just outside of the bedrooms. However, the bedrooms are very small, as are the bathrooms.
Perfect location, amazing staff, comfortable rooms, nice breakfast. I would return to this hotel as it's very good value for the price. Some other reviewers have complained about the shared sitting room but it's really not a problem - you still have a full hotel room (not super spacious) but there is also a room on each floor with seating, a desk and a coffee/tea station. Small complaints: the shower lacks pressure and the cleaner does not replenish coffee pods in the room each day, you need to go downstairs to ask.
Great location in Condesa and easily walkable to Roma Norte. Room was a bit warm and could use ceiling fan or some other mechanism to help keep cool. Not a dealbreaker but room needs a full length mirror.
I didn’t know the space in front the bedrooms was shared.
I wish the cleaner cleaned out bathrooms and provided more towels, just 2 each day doesn’t seem like much to me. The property was in a great location. The food was terrific. I recommend adding a hot sauce. The staff were so kind and helpful. I loved the decor !

The hotel was booked for location and how cute it looked online. First glance it is very cute and accommodating.
If you book here, bring earplugs and headphones if you want to get any sleep. The shared common areas, stairway, and open concept make it very noisy. We were woken by staff noises, hotel guests coming back in wee hours, staff chopping food early in the morning, music, and our least favorite a couple hooking up a floor above us. Waking up to bangs, clangs, and moaning was not restful and caused a lot of discomfort to our trip.
The staff also work in the shared common areas so it can make it a little uncomfortable if you want to enjoy the lobby area. We went to relax downstairs and listened to a staff watch online videos on her phone on loud. It just felt awkward.
The cafe was fun and breakfast was nice - before our stay I had asked for a menu and they said they didn't have one. They have a full menu with delicious options! Highly recommend the chilaquiles with verde salsa. The coffee on the other hand is hit or miss. We had one day of great coffee and one drink needed to be decaf for health reasons and we had no issues. Then the next time we ordered they said they didn't have decaf and the drinks were awful. Other than that, staff were friendly enough and helped as needed.
Would we book again, probably not.
As you enter, it feels like you have walked into Dwell magazine. The staff is young, vibrant and passionate. We got a suite that was very comfortable and well designed. In the morning we had a great breakfast that included yogurt with fruit and granola , coffee, plus a choice of eggs or pancakes from the menu which was delicious. My only complaint is lack of air conditioning which could be a problem on hot days. Also there are no elevators. I was also pleased that hotel offered to make reservations for sightseeing and dining prior to arrival and were excellent in responding to emails and requests.
We had a pleasant stay at the Casa Altata. We stayed there a week and enjoyed the calm area and safe neighbourhood. The staff was nice. We were updraged to the suite since they had a mix up with our booking. On the downside, the water pressure in the shower was quite poor (good luck rinsing out the shampoo) and the breakfast service speed was disapointing. On 3 occasions, there was only one staff member serving and cooking for everyone. We had planned 1 hour before we had to leave and had to finally cancel our order because our driver arrived. On another occasion, we just decided to eat out because we had « only » 1 hour and there were 2 other tables before us. On a third occasion, while we weren’t pressed on time, it still took quite a long time for a really simple order. When both employees were there, it went more smoothly, but it seems that some mornings were understaff. Nevertheless, we definitely recommend the hotel

An okay hotel but expected much more at price point and website. The photos put a favourable shine on this hotel, which is closer to a budget Airbnb than a boutique hotel - imagine if Tommy Walsh did a 60-minute makeover on a hotel. Rooms are tiny and not particularly inviting. Don’t trust the expert photographer employed to make this hotel look like something it’s not
Had to leave the property, couldnt even stay there for one night. As soon as we arrived, I realized it had been conpletely misrepresented online. The lobby area was small and cramped, it was hard to walk around with luggage. There was just one member of staff and she had a bad attitude when confronted with the fact we were not happy with the accomodation. We arrived on a Saturday evening and there was construction noise that could be heard everywhere, in the room and in the lobby — so we could not rest after a long trip. When we went to the room we discovered that the living area was actually a shared space, and not part of the room as we were led to believe by the photos. The room itself was not very comfortable and when I went inside the bathroom, I saw there was waste inside the toilet and a very bad smell in the bathroom. Additionally, no air conditioning in the room and horrible accessibility. There is no lift and the only way to get thrugh the room is through a very narrow spiral staircase. Overall very bad experience, please consider this information before decididing to stay there.
Great location for exploring. The shared common room on each floor was a great extra space if needed and always had filtered water to help yourself. The rooms aren’t huge themselves, but the tiny balcony is a nice added touch.
