Lovely and Romantic

The hotel was absolutely lovely. We only stayed one night but I wish we had stayed more… The room was romantic and the rooftop terrace had a wonderful view of the harbor. The breakfast was a typical Italian breakfast, but everything else including the garden was lovely. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a pleasant stay. The view is great but it is more an AB&B not a hotel as such. Towels were the size of foot mat …. Need to address with bath towels. Parking able to find literally outside. Room was large, stay was pleasant.

This is a grand old house, well-kept and beautiful on the Messina waterfront. It was really fun to stay here and we partied on the rooftop terrace until late, enjoying the night view and watching the ships come and go in the harbor. It’s a 15 minute walk to downtown shopping but there is a light rail train that stops right out front. There are some restaurants nearby. We loved the charm.

Nice with some limitations

This is a lovely B&B, but has limited support staff. Their English speaking staff is limited and so it is difficult to confirm even a simple request like reserving a taxi. Location is good and room is comfortable, although can be noisy until 10 pm as it is on a major city road.

fantastic accommodation - just WOW! Apparently initially built by the person who designed the first passenger hydrofoil, the villa is stunning in its detail and grandeur. The staff were incredibly hospitable and our only wish was to have stayed longer!

A Gem in Messina

This place is a gem! Wish we’re had stayed longer, but will put it on list of favorites to return! Giovanni was incredible and made our stay extra special helping us with dinner reservations, taxis and more. Definitely a classic.

What a fabulous property!! We stayed in the junior suite and everything about the suite was impeccable. The staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming. They assisted us with our dinner plans and organized a taxi for us. The rooftop terraces are breathtaking and not to be missed. The last day we were able to walk through the first floor rooms of the house which are now used for events. What an incredible venue. I wish we would have stayed here longer. This will always be my Messina accommodation!

Posto meraviglioso, una villa liberty veramente bellissima, situata in una delle zone più belle di Messina . Peccato che la pulizia lasciava molto a desiderare (eufemismo). Polvere ovunque e in grande quantità. Colazione veramente basic considerando la bellezza della villa e del contesto, ci si aspetterebbe di più.

Struttura ospitata in una villa settecentesca in posizione invidiabile, affacciata sullo stretto. La camera è ampia e dotata di tutti i comfort e l'arredamento è delizioso. Per due notti siamo stati gli unici ospiti (su tre stanze) e abbiamo così potuto sfruttare con tranquillità (e silenzio) gli spazi comuni, dalla colazione alla terrazza. Tenete presente che la villa è affacciata su una via trafficata, ma con la chiusura di tapparelle e scuri si riesce a dormire in maniera soddisfacente. Molto gentile ed efficiente il servizio di reception. Consigliatissimo!

This place was beautiful. The rooms looked like a museum, and the staff (especially Giovanni) was very nice and welcoming. Rooms were always very clean, air conditioning worked perfectly, and you are on the water and close to many restaurants and shopping places. I highly recommend this place! A very interesting experience.

The room we were allocated was very good although we didn’t have the bath or the balcony we expected. However, the staff were excellent and looked after us extremely well. The building is not staffed all the time and they are only there when you need them, ie. check in and breakfast, So you have to let yourself in and secure the building when you go out. At the time of our visit we were the only guests which was a bit strange but we had the run of the building including the lovely rooftop terrace where we spent a couple of evenings having a drink and watching the activities in the harbour. On the down side, the hotel is on a busy main road and the noise of the traffic, particularly at night, can be a problem.
