Like great reviews? Here's one from Feb. 3. "Always clean, always easy process. Quality accommodation with lots of little extras that make it a cut above...". Here's another from Dec. 31, a repeat visitor. "My husband and I have been coming to Mentone for many years, and our son and his friend came with us. We enjoyed the Christmas decor and the cottage was very clean. Located across the Brow we got to see some great views and a beautiful sunset. Enjoyed shopping and eating at some great restaurants too. We will be coming back and hopefully stay at Moonflower Cottage."

We invite you to come visit Mentone at Moonflower Cottage. Mentone is a charming little town in northeast Alabama, just a few miles north of Fort Payne and 45 miles from Chattanooga. It was recently named one of the top 24 small towns in America. It sits atop Lookout Mountain, where the views are not only spectacular but there are wonderful places for hiking, the 104-foot DeSoto Falls just three miles away, and we are close to DeSoto State Park. The flora and fauna are spectacular year around and Moonflower is an easy 1/4-mile walk to the heart of Mentone, where there are charming stores and restaurants and more on the way. Be sure to visit the nonprofit Mentone Arts Center, as well as Elevation Bistro, Wildflower Cafe, the Mentone Market, The Hatter Restaurant and other specialty stores in town and nearby.

Moonflower Cottage will be the star of the your visit. Imagine being surrounded by antique furniture and oriental rugs, granite countertops and stainless appliances, two king en suites with full baths, and a fully equipped kitchen that's been described as "extraordinary."

The screened back porch offers gentle breezes, comfortable wicker furniture and a dining table for six. The front porch has four rocking chairs and it's the best place on earth to see incredible sunsets.

Excellent stay and the house was the perfect size for us. Screen porch was wonderful and kitchen was reasonably well equipped. Only minus was the slipperiness of the shower floors (inside the tub). I am 76 and my balance isn’t great but I had to hold onto the grab bar all through my shower. Suggest providing a shower mat for people to use if they need it. We loved the house and location.

Moonflower Cottage is always beautiful— impeccably clean and perfectly situated on the brow of the mountain. The two porches—rocking chair front porch and a screened back porch—are wonderful places to visit with companions while enjoying the natural setting.

Moonflower Cottage in Mentone is our favorite “home away from home” - we absolutely love it! It is the perfect getaway to relax & recharge. God’s goodness is evident especially with the sunsets out the front door. The house is always so clean and the hosts are the best we have encountered. Very hospitable & available when needed. We are always sad to leave and can’t wait until our next visit!

Peaceful Weekend in Mountains

It is always great to come to the mountains in Mentone such and tranquil area to rest and relax. This place was a wonderful place to relax for the few days we were in town for and the view from the cottage words don't do it justice. Host was very accomodating and easy to work with and available to answer any questions that may arise. Definitely a place to stay if you are planning a trip to Northeast Alabama.

With it's two king suites, Moonflower Cottage is the perfect getaway home for two couples. The decor is beautiful and the host has provided everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. It rained off and on during our time there, but we stayed dry and enjoyed visiting on the spacious screened porch. The beds are comfortable and we slept well each night after enjoying some time in Mentone. The host was thoughtful and easy to communicate with. Definitely a 5 star property!

Another great stay

Our fifth visit. We hope we can continue to stay at Moonflower for many many more. This time we made a point of nesting on the back porch and watching sunsets on the front porch. It was fantastic.

Spacious, with a great front porch view and a screened porch we used for meals. The private back yard, with trees and birds, made the screened in porch really pleasant!

Our Mentone Getaway

This was our third time staying at the Moonflower cottage. It is by far the best place that we have stayed at. The house is very clean and inviting. The owners have thought of everything that you may need. The view is spectacular. I would highly recommend staying at the Moonflower cottage. We will definitely be back!

A wonderful getaway
