Award-winning, stylish and simple, in a countryside setting near the coast

The largest of our 2-bed cottages, Shell’s spirit pays homage to the Shell Gallery that was formerly sited in the west barn of Sharrington Hall. The colours are a sophisticated soft blend of oyster, silver and taupe, and subtle playful shell motifs decorate the house in the form of lampshades and mirrors.

The large kitchen has a hand-built painted kitchen and antique French refectory table and chairs. There is open access to a separate sitting room, with large open fireplace, log burning stove and seating for four.

There are two ensuite double bedrooms. One has a four-poster bed, antique chest, hanging space and grand doors opening into an ensuite bathroom with cast iron roll top bath, WC and basin. The second bedroom offers twin or superking bed with large doors opening into bathroom with WC, basin and walk-in shower tiled in oyster-coloured pebbles.

Shell is a great base from which to head to the seashore van at Morston for a plate of fresh local oysters.

Shell is one of the five Cartshed Cottages at Sharrington Hall which are both stylish and comfortable. A mix of vintage and contemporary furniture, oak floors and natural materials create a relaxed mood befitting the local North Norfolk environment. Each cottage is inspired by something that for us, exudes the essence of North Norfolk – Shell, Seal, Salt, Samphire and Sky. We offer special couple rates in all our cottages all year round, Sky and Shell are our dog-friendly cottages and we only accept children age 13 or over (no infants/babies).
