Custom Waterfront full Log Home State Licensed

Welcome to English Lake Escape, a beautiful custom log home located in the heart of the Chequamegon National Forest. This wilderness retreat offers a peaceful and exciting vacation with all the amenities you need.

No matter the season, there are plenty of activities to enjoy. You can go hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, or take ATV trips in the surrounding area.

The property features three bedrooms and two bathrooms, comfortably sleeping 8 guests in beds. There is a king bed, a queen bed, two twin beds, a full-size pull-out couch, and two queen Aero beds available.

You'll love spending time on the 900 sq. foot cedar deck, which has outdoor seating for 10 people. There are gas and charcoal grills for your use, as well as a three-season porch.

For water activities, we provide a canoe, 3 kayaks, and two aluminum row boats. If you're interested, pontoon rental is also available.

In the Clam Lake/Namekagan area, you'll find great restaurants to enjoy. Please note that smoking is not allowed on the property. We do allow trained pets upon request.

Relaxation!

Beautiful quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. We didn’t leave once - just enjoyed boating, swimming, campfires, games, and the beautiful surroundings. My brother-in-law was easily able to work from the cabin - wifi was great. Thanks Gregg!

Great place! Clean and well-equipped (may be the fist VRBO that we have rented that gave us more than 3 rolls of toilet paper - it's the little things). Sandy beach was nice to wade in on a hot day. Owner was quick to respond to questions prior to going. No issues while onsite!

House was very clean, beds were very comfortable and all the amenities listed plus a few extras. The owner Gregg was very easy to work with (we had a little scheduling problem). The lake and the views are amazing and the stars at night are spectacular.

It was alright

My husband and I hosted our wedding here. We only had 25ish guests so we didn’t need a huge space the night before the wedding the power went out. We understand this isn’t their fault, but we went 24 hours without ac when it was 100*. The owner came over once to bring buckets to flush the toilets but we didn’t hear from him again. He was well aware that we were hosting a wedding but didn’t seem to care to help or check in at all. We made the best of our experience, but wouldn’t stay again.

These retired educators loved it!

We are a group of four Retired educators. We found this place was great for many of its attributes. The lake was amazingly clean and easy to access. The kitchen and all areas were well equipped, tissues and paper towel were provided. Nice to have a full-service kitchen and lots of space to spread out.

Just book it! You won't regret it.

This was an amazing property, fully stocked with everything you could need/want. The waterfront was perfect for wading with kids, had a nice sandy bottom with clear water. We enjoyed the kayaks provided. We fished in the evening and we caught a ton of little fish and a couple bigger ones. Perfect for kids as the bobber would go down as soon as you cast it in. Such an enjoyable getaway with our family.

New Years Getaway

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house and property! There was plenty of room for our 2 families of 4 (4 adults, 3 teens and 1 child) and all the amenities you'd need. We got 2 days of skiing/snowboarding in at Whitecap and then spent a relaxing day at the property ice fishing, using the fire pit and cooking for New Years Eve. What a great spot to ring in the New Year! Gregg was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. We would definitely recommend this property to others!

Great location for Chequamegon hiking excursions

This is remote but perfectly situated for taking in all the great hiking in the area. Just minutes from Copper Falls, Potato River Falls, Superior Falls, St. Peter's Dome and Morgan Falls. The photos and description of the home don't do it justice. Super clean, really well appointed, and comfortable. Perfect accommodations for my family of 5. We had a wonderful, relaxing 4-day weekend and highly recommend. Gregg, the owner, is super fast to respond, had great area tips, and is very easy to work with. Thanks so much for a great experience!

Peaceful & Beautiful House

My Family and I enjoyed this house. Everything was very clean, and well kept. We loved all the little details the owners put into this rental. The stocked kitchen, board games, extra patio & fire pit seating, onsite firewood, outdoor lawn game, deck of cards, bug spray, weather radios, paper plates and paper towels. It was great to have 3 kayaks, a canoe, and a rowboat. It allowed us to be out exploring the lake together. The option to rent a pontoon is great too and very convenient. We didn't have any issues during the day with mosquitos. Only at night, but that's to be expected in the middle of the forest. It's located in a Beautiful area. We explored Copper Falls and Morgan Falls during our stay. We would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking to get away and relax! Thank You!

Amazing cabin surrounded by beautiful wilderness!

I had planned a family hiking vacation to Wisconsins Northwoods and wanted a cabin that could serve as a place to rest and relax. This cabin did not disappoint. It literally has everything you could need for a weekly stay. My only recommendation is, if you don't like well water, then bring bottled water. The scenery and wildlife of the area is hard to beat. In 3 days of hiking we covered 21.5 miles and barely scratched the surface of all the trails to hike. We saw countless deer, roughed grouse, bald eagles, an owl and various forest birds. On our last night sitting around the camp fire we heard a pack of wolves howling in the distance! The view of the lake and forested hills from the cabin is second to none! Just looking out the windows will bring a smile to your face and sense of complete solitude. If you're not happy here, you won't be happy anywhere. Our entire group is looking forward to the next time we can come back. Give this cabin a try, you won't regret it!.

Lake view is gorgeous. Really enjoyed the provided kayaks and row boat. Copper Falls State Park was very close and beautiful. Found a local restaurant called Copper Ridge that waited on us with delicious food and great customer service. Gregg was very responsive when we had a slight issue with our room that ended up getting resolved. We would definitely stay here again.
