Very reasonably priced hotel in the CBD

Very nice hotel. Lots of amenities- safe in the room, iron, tea/coffee with fresh milk. Breakfast was very good and can be added for a small cost. Very reasonably priced hotel in the CBD 20 minutes form the airport

Great location, used offsite parking within 700 meters, had to park a campervan $10.00/day (weekend rates). Walking distance to water front and Queen Victoria Market plus good area for eating options.

For the price the hotel was great, clean rooms and plenty of towels and toiletries. Rooms bit dated and new lift recently installed which still had the tape on. For a short stay it is quite sufficient.

Room much smaller than advertised with huge bed and not much room for anything else. Walls are paper thin so if you get noisy neighbours or street traffic it won't be good. But a clean and functional family run hotel where you are left alone. Water pressure and temperature in old shower was surprisingly good.

Good location, no close parking though. Room was clean and staff were nice. Terrible shower with hardly any pressure, tap spurted out everywhere in the sink which made using it really hard. No where to fill up a water bottle and no water in the fridge. Comfortable bed though. All in all not too bad for what we needed but do not expect a fancy room at all.

Affordable and good location for walking distance to shops, tram, train and bus. Very cozy room and not well thought out design of bathroom as very tight. Needs a bit of love and quite noisy outside. No great natural light you’d think it was 7pm at all times. Would I stay again? No. Did it serve as a cheap, convenient stay at the time? Yes. If you’re considering skimping on accomodation but like the finer things, definitely pay that bit extra for nicer place. Bed was really comfy and good size though!

Really disappointed with our stay at Hotel Sophia, considering it wasn’t super cheap. Very dated and hallway floors creaked very loudly. Room was TINY! Not an exaggeration. Two of us found it hard to move around the room as it was only space for one person in any space at one time. The bed was supposed to be a king, however, was much smaller. The shower was a trickle of water and the basin tap sprayed in different directions when turned on. Room had coffee pod machine with coffee pods, other instant tea and coffee. Fridge with milk provided. Linen and towels were fresh and clean. Bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, hand cream. No hair dryer (maybe be important to know for some). Not the most convenient location as it wasn’t on a tram line so had to walk in the rain with our luggage.

Great accomodation if you are just looking for a bed for the night in an ideal location to town! Tried to check in early, but couldn’t until 2pm which was fine. Stuff were a bit flustered and weren’t all that welcoming. However, good stay overall

Perfect location close to Southern Station access to free Trams and cheap eats nearby in the Spencer Outlet plus great selection within 3 blocks being near Korea town. Staff have a real casual feel which makes it very comfortable.
