Fifty minutes after leaving Melbourne, you’re on the deck with a glass of local pinot, watching the sun drop behind the vines and hills.
At night, the stars are incredible — perfect for setting up a tripod to capture the sky, sunsets and sunrises from the property. Or keep it simple and relax in one of the many quiet spots around the farm, soaking up the peace and the sounds of nature. You can even borrow our easel, find your favourite outlook and paint a scene to take home with you.
This is An Unforgettable View — a newly finished two-bedroom retreat on our small rescue farm in Dixons Creek, looking straight out over nearby vineyards, rolling hills and the dam below.
Stay in comfort, then step outside for the kind of country touches that can’t be faked.
In the morning you’ll wake to soft light over the valley, kangaroos in the distance and the occasional rooster in the background — along with the donkeys, horse and other rescue animals on our property. By arrangement, we’re happy to introduce you to them and help with feeding.
Right on the doorstep are world-class wineries, boutique cellar doors, wedding venues, the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie, Healesville Sanctuary, gin distilleries, walking trails, bike paths and the cafes and shops of Healesville and Yarra Glen. Many places are just a short drive away. Bikes are available on request — just let us know in advance how many you’d like.
Come for a special weekend, or a slow week where you cook, read, wander the vines and feel a long way from the city — without spending half the day in the car.
