Staying here was like walking into a family's beach house--fully stocked kitchen, shelves full of books, and a garage overflowing with fishing rods, bicycles, and surfboards. Perfect for families, especially the gathering places inside and out, and the enormous dining room table big enough for an extended family (and with a beautiful view of the ocean).
We spent most of our time out on the patio, which is right at the edge of the dunes, so you're almost on the beach.
And the neighborhood is wonderful. If you've never been to Melbourne Beach, check it out! Sebastian Inlet (surfing/fishing) is just a few miles south, and the surfing right out in front of the house is outstanding. Across A1A, there's kayaking and SUPing on the lagoon/Indian River, where you can see dolphins and manatees. If you want more of a social life, Melbourne Beach restaurants are just a short drive north.
Finally, I have to give a shout out to our host, who was so responsive and helpful. There was some confusion about our check in and getting the place ready, but Lourdes responded to a text immediately and got everything sorted. Throughout out stay, she was always available, and always so helpful!
