The Balm is a beautifully updated and maintained hotel on the inside. The grounds could use a bit of work but overall a very nice hotel. We were amazed at the size of our room and the gorgeous bath. We didn’t swim but the pool looks very nice. The hotel staff were great! The bus into Lucerne was very easy to use too. We would be happy to stay again!

The person who checked us in was very nice and took the time to explain the important sites in Lucerne and provided a map of where the sites were. The room was very clean and was updated. Even though there was no air conditioning, they provided a strong fan for each of the two bedrooms. The breakfast area was very nice and provided a beautiful view of the area. Selection at breakfast was very good. Also the bus stop was right across the street so it was easy to get around. I would recommend staying at this hotel!

Super staff and facilities. Husiyn at Reception was awesome and very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in recent memory. Absolutely loved our stay here. Highly recommended.

Very accommodating a great location with easy access into Lucerne. Staff was wonderful and friendly. Hussein went above and beyond throughout our stay. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Our checkin was simple, parking was great, it’s a beautiful spot, the staff was super helpful and gracious, and the rooms were large and comfortable. The breakfast was the best we’ve had on our two week trip in Europe - it was awesome!

My partner and I travelled Switzerland by train on our trip, so we walked to this hotel from the closest train station, which was about 10-15 min walk, mostly uphill, and with three suitcases and two backpacks. Because of that we arrived very hot, sweaty, and exhausted. The wonderful woman at the front desk offered us water and rest before even beginning the check in process. Both women who were working at that time were super friendly, and the check-in process was smooth. Fortunately for us, our room was ready about an hour early. There is no lift, but we were offered help with our bags to the second floor. Our room was VERY spacious. We had a sun room with a couch and chair that opens to the beautiful view of the field and the lake. Room was very clean, did not see any issues. It also has SO much storage! We had a King sized bed and it was comfy! We only had one pillow each, and they are not the fluffiest compared to American pillows (lol). I still liked them but would have liked to have more pillows so we didn't have to fold them in half for sleeping and relaxing watching tv in bed. The shower was the best I experienced over my whole European trip this time, with great water flow and pressure. The only thing I did not like was the lack of refrigerator so we could keep some food on hand. Free coffee from the Nespresso machine downstairs that you can enjoy any time, and I would recommend enjoying the early morning in the court yard with a nice cup.
