Incredible Lake Michigan Home with over 1/2 mile of public beach and amazing views of Little Sable Lighthouse. This gorgeous custom built home is built among the soft sand dunes of Mears Michigan and designed to take advantage of the beautiful views of Lake Michigan as well as the views of Little Sable Lighthouse across the street. Home is engineered to recreate the homes frequently built to house the light keepers for lighthouses built during the latter 1/2 of the 1800's along the shore of Michigan's Great Lakes. Enjoy over a 1/2 mile of soft, sandy Lake Michigan Beach that is literally directly across this quiet dead end street. Utilize the amazing powered beach wagon to effortlessly transport all your beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, food, ice cold drinks and even your kayaks and paddle boards from the home to the waters edge. Toes can be from the door to the water in 4 minutes and buried in the sand dunes right off the amazing wrap around deck. Whether you are relaxing on the deck, enjoying a gathering around the fire pit, entertaining in the living room, enjoying a movie and games in the walkout basement or hanging out in the 4th story crow's nest, you'll enjoy the most amazing views of one of Michigan's most iconic lighthouses from nearly every room in this quality home.
Little Sable Lighthouse was constructed in 1874 and is among the top 5 tallest lighthouses in Michigan at 107 feet. Visitors can stop by the small gift shop located in the public parking lot of the lighthouse to purchase a souvenir or pay a small fee to climb the internal staircase of Little Sable and get an amazing panoramic view of Lake Michigan and the surrounding dunes.
Enjoy a truly unique experience at Silver Lake Sand Dunes state park which is only a few miles north. This is one of the few locations in the united states which permits 4x4's to ride on the dunes and it has the added bonus permitting vacationers to pull their 4x4 up to an amazing Lake Michigan beach that is only accessible by 4x4 drivers and their companions.

Beautiful architecture with emphasis on stunning location. Wide open views of everything, including lighthouse. Endless sandy beach of Little Sable Point across the street. We enjoyed our best family time on the beach with kids & grandkids. Perfect sand for kids and dogs to run on. Great mix of classic games for entertainment inside this family friendly home. Kitchen had useful small appliances including KitchenAid mixer. Top to bottom well laid out vacation home.

My husband, myself, adult daughter and our dogs stayed for a four day weekend at the house. The house was beautiful and the location gorgeous. Set in dunes with views of Lake Michigan and the lighthouse. We visited Silver Lake Dunes with our UTV. My daughter and I shopped in Hart, Pentwater, and Ludington. We visited lighthouses and wineries. The trees were amazing. Sunsets and stars like no other place. The location reminded us of the Outer Banks. Although we were late in the season there were still places open and not having the crowds was nice. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Beautiful property with perfect location! The house is equipped with everything you might need or want. The beach buggy was a cool addition. The beds were very comfortable. We had multigenerational family members gathering for a baby shower at a restaurant in nearby Ludington. Once we figured out parking for family members visiting for the day, (they could park at the Lighthouse basically across the street), it was perfect. We had the beach to ourselves. The kids loved running up & down the dunes. Everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Location was awesome, wish we had known the area closes down mid Sept. Was hoping to use the electric wagon to take things to the beach, but we managed. The views are awesome especially at sunset.

A lovely home. The firepit photos are a bit deceiving but pit was adequate. Had terrible problem with gnats (fruitflies) in the kitchen. They were obviously aware of this problem because had little gnat traps set out around the kitchen/dining area. After departure, homeowner stated to VRBO that we had damaged a table, therefore holding 250 from our deposit. Did not provide any receipts for repair or replacement. Sent a picture but that could have been any table, anywhere. Very disappointed in homeowner's and VRBO's handling of this situation.

This house is beautiful. Perfect location, views, and comfort. The beds and linens are five star hotel quality. Kitchen is fully stocked with high end appliances. Decor is top notch. My siblings have been renting on the west side of the state for years and we would definitely come back to this one.

This house was everything we had hoped for! It was very well equipped and had plenty of room for everyone. The sand beach was a quick walk away, the lake was wonderful and we all enjoyed swimming and laying out in the sand. The views of the sunset were spectacular all week and the night sky was amazing from this location.We also made a couple of day trips around the area including a ball game in Grand Rapids. This was the perfect spot for a couple of families to unwind and relax for the week. The kids especially loved the large TV room downstairs for movie nights!Lastly, the host was super responsive to minor inquiries and gave us great recommendations around the area.

Excellent vacation rental

We loved the house, all its amenities and the location. It was perfect for our family of 11. The children loved the games, video games and close proximity to the lake and many activities.The owners were welcoming and responsive and seemed to have thought of everything to make our stay wonderful.

The pictures of the outside of the house on VRBO in no way were accurate as to what the outside really looks like. Everything was overgrown with invasive vines. The deck, stairs, bottom decking was covered in green algae. The grill was filthy and had to be lite manually. Nothing on the outside has been maintained.

Family Vacation

So thankful I came across this property while doing my search for our family vacation. The house was beautiful and location was wonderful. The view was amazing. Belle of the Beach

My daughter got married at the Little Sable Lighthouse Saturday so the location of the house was absolutely perfect! The house is gorgeous. Watching the sunset from the deck was an amazing bonus that we didn’t expect! We hope to come back in the summer to enjoy the beach.

Third Stay!

We never repeat VRBO homes. Except this one. This was our third stay; beginning to feel like a home away from home :) This house is SO great. Well stocked and beautiful location. We enjoy snuggling in and playing games, exploring the winter beach and sledding on the dunes. Owners are responsive and fabulous. Will be back :)

Family Long Weekend Getaway

Beautiful home, perfect location and outstanding amenities. We had a great time despite having to cut the trip short due to a family emergency. Plenty of space, beautiful views and fun daily walks on the beach with the dogs. Can’t wait to visit again.

Lovely Cottage but Disappointing View

2 cousins, age 66, stayed for 3 nights. Great cottage with everything you could need with an exception. If you have any issues with knees, hips, etc., keep in mind that the cottage is a full flight of stairs to the main level. Bring a suction cup grip for the shower/tub area for safe entering and exiting. It was so hard to get out that I skipped showering after the first day. The beach is NOT an easy walk and there is a VERY limited view of the water from the deck. I thought we had a full beach view. After our stay, I realized that the cottage is facing the backside of dunes and there is no clear walking path to the beach. Aerial photographs don’t make that info obvious. We did experience a little something regarding security…motion-sensor lights going off-and-on and in the morning we found a medical glove outside of my driver’s side door. There is no explanation for the glove, but I felt obligated to mention it. Sorry to the owners—no fault on your part. The cottage itself was very nice and the stay was relaxing.

70th Birthday Party

The property and location were both 10s. Communications with the owner was very easy and they were very responsive. All the furnishings were the best that I have had in a VRBO. We lacked for nothing during our stay. Everything we needed was furnished and of the best quality. The sunset views from the deck were outstanding and it was just a short walk to the beach. Our stay was one of the most enjoyable that we've had.
