Great stay, great place, just what the family needed for a couple of days. Host was more than welcoming, providing farm fresh eggs and bacon. That’s southern hospitality at its best!
Beautiful home! Absolutely the nicest host we have ever come in contact with. Not only was Bonnie accomodating, but also left fresh eggs and the fixings for breakfast along with water and orange juice in the refrigerator. After a long day of driving from the Mississippi coast it was appreciated! Thank you!
The host was amazing... making sure we had everything we needed and was very gracious. Their home is beautiful and has just about every amenity you could want.. coffees, teas, water in the fridge, bathroom amenities in case you forgot anything, plus different options for coffee makers. The house was beautiful and clean and smelled wonderful. The location was quiet and rural and had some beautiful sunset views.
Bonnie & Steve's place was very nice and very well kept up. Everything was clean, neat and well organized. They were quick to respond back and were very helpful with any questions. Would recommend their place and if I'm ever back over that way would stay with them again.
My family and I (6 in total) stayed at this home for my son’s graduation from NALTC. It was inviting and comfortable. We enjoyed our time here very much. Bonnie & Steve are wonderful hosts, having brought us carrots to feed the donkeys and farm-fresh eggs for our morning breakfasts. They were very easy to communicate with and made our stay a pleasurable one. Hope to be back some day!
The host was amazing with her communication. There were lots of extras around the house: different kinds of teas, coffee, specialty coffees, extra toothbrushes, toothpaste, fresh eggs from her chickens, a package of bacon, hashbrowns, 3 separate areas to brew coffee, filtered water on tap at the kitchen sink, etc. These were all outstanding and very helpful in making our stay AMAZING!
From comfortable beds to an outside sitting area this house on the hill has what your group needs. Plenty of room for everyone. Away from noise or disturbances but close enough to town to run in for anything you might need. Sit on reclining couch to watch TV or outside under the umbrella watching the hummingbirds. Lots of parking and beautiful gardens. Inside is clean and neat too.
My sister and I were in town for Motocross at Loretta Lynn’s and this was the closest location we could find that felt truly safe. Bonnie had excellent communication, helped us with anything we asked and it was comforting to know she was close with just the two of us traveling. The home was clean, cozy, in a quiet area and the beds were very comfy! There were also plenty of chargers which saved my rear end because I left every last one of my own at home. Those little details really stand out to me and speak to the care in guests having an excellent stay.
My family and I stayed here while taking our son to school at NALTC and this was the perfect place for our home base. There was plenty of room for the whole family with 2 master rooms and a multi bed room for the kids. We appreciated the little extra amenities like coffee bar and phone chargers...
A farmhouse charm inside and cute outside, the front porch was perfect in the mornings and evenings to sit and relax with nature sounds we don't normally hear. Check-in/out process was seamless and communication with the hosts easy and responsive. Will definitely stay again.
Last weekend, my family stayed in your lovely country home on the hill. The occasion was the Celebration of Life service for my mother. Your house was a peaceful gathering place in the evenings, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning for my son and daughter and their families, as well as my husband and myself. There were ten of us in all including four children ranging in age from 6 ½ to almost 3.The playroom was the most popular room in the house and was full of fun as our grandchildren played with the wonderful array of nice toys you provided. The interactive farm, the giant building blocks and a very creative STEM building set were all enjoyed by little hands. This allowed the six adults to be able to visit in the living room and dining room while the children happily played. There were farm fresh eggs in our refrigerator when we arrived. We paired these with some sausage and bagels for a delicious breakfast Sunday morning. The kitchen had everything we needed for coffee and tea and fixing breakfast and snacks. The entire house was so well labeled! Very nice! You have done an outstanding job of decorating the home and making it a calm, welcoming place to be. We all slept well on the nice beds. Our grandchildren enjoyed watching the donkeys (with the donkeys on one side and the children on the other). The house was exactly what we needed. We really appreciate your hospitality and responsiveness and highly recommend your lovely country home to anyone!
We had a wonderful stay at the Retreat. It was clean, easy to find, and very peaceful. The hosts were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. Thank you!
1. The house went well above our expectations!. It was very clean, The beds were comfortable, even the sofa and chairs were comfortable. Extra points for everything being labeled. No need to open every drawer to find a spoon or run around clicking light switches. The outside area was amazing as well. The shaded sitting area was used almost as much as inside seating. We used the grill and umbrella as well. Bonus there are donkeys on the property and they were so cute!.The host went above and beyond. We arrived to two dozen fresh eggs in the refridgerator as well as carrots to feed the donkeys. Before our arrival they communicated often and gave great directions to the place. When I asked if fishing was allowed in the pond they offered to buy some fishing rods! I declined because we had our own but who does that. They supplied charcoal for the grill! To sum it up, The house was wonderful and clean, The amenitees outside were great, and we got bonus donkeys!I would reccomend this location to anyone!
Hillside Retreat is a beautiful home and was very peaceful and quiet. We are planning a return trip soon. The hosts are very polite and and communicate well with guests when need.
Great place, quiet and secluded. Hosts were very accommodating, even leaving fresh eggs for our first morning. Power went out in the middle of the night and host sent a message the following morning to make sure everything was ok and power was restored properly. Highly recommend!
