I love Bar-Mel! It has been around for many years, so don't expect fancy, but the beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The staff is awesome. A young man named Mo helped me with the tv remote when I couldn't find the volume button. I must have had a senior moment! He was so kind and even gave me a big hug!

The Bel-Mar is a quaint throwback to a different time with a genuinely caring owner. Off the beaten path and nestled near the Sumter National Forest it's a peaceful place to stay. It's well cared for inn with spacious rooms that's a must stay if you're in the area.

The rooms are very spacious. Is the first time I’ve ever seen a hotel where the head of the bed adjust so you could sit up and read a book in bed without needing too many pillows. The staff of the property was extremely professional and polite and went out of the way to help you, this is the best spot to stay at go to Graves Mountain rock swap and dig Since it’s only 20 minutes away from the site, which is straight down the same road the hotels on.

The host, Peter was outstanding. He was best part of entire stay. Beds were confortable. Shower was barely ok. kinda noisy because so close totalking loudly highway. First night stay was bad. 3 truck loads of mexican construction workers stayed outside their rooms talking loudly until 1AM. No phones in room.

New owner who is very friendly and making repairs to a property that was run down. Spacious room, bed was comfortable and the room very clean. Large selection of tv channels. Was better than I expected. Convenient and a reasonably priced if playing the savannah lakes golf courses.

You have to remember this is a mom and pop place and so for the price point this was a good place. We were there for the bluegrass festival and our other options were more expensive or much farther away. As such the place is in need of an update and did provide the necessities. It met our needs. McCormick is just a few miles down the road and we can recommend the Little Italy restaurant and the Huddle House.

They have not refunded my deposit and their telephone number is nonexistent and i live in another state and cannot just drop by. What is the reason they are rated an 8 on your ratings?

Horrible customer service

Ordered a double queen over a week in advance, called two days before arrival to verify the reservation. During the call i told him we would be 930 or possibly later, was told no problem. Arrived around 10 PM, was told our reservation had been canceled since we didn't arrive by 10PM. Had to turn around and find another room that night. Won't book again.

Dirty, broken down and worn out everything. The AC clattered a death rattle and I barely slept - woke at 3:30 to the noise. Needs basic maintenance and a renovation. No top sheet, had to go back and ask manager for it. He launched into an explanation.

As others said , basic hotel with a friendly owner and clean rooms. If you get there past 10 pm, you have to ring to get checked in , and charged a little extra for the late help. The owner is on top of it all and had emailed us earlier through the booking site. Had I told them the exact arrival time , they could have sent the door code by email. Room is very basic and yes outdated but functional.

Easy to find. Close to SLV which is our reason for being in the area. Owner was very pleasant to deal with. He was not aware of our reservation when I gave him a printed version. It was not an issue. Very clean, neat room, though dated. No American news or tv channels, well, maybe HLN? Over 200 from India or somewhere though. Some Canadian too. Great price point room that did the trick for us. AA
