"The lodge was right in Tikal National Park. Nice restaurant and very friendly and helpful staff. Wildlife all around, including capibara, catamundi, spider monkeys, many birds, and the howler monkeys with their loud, eerie screams. We went at the end of April and it was very hot. There is no AC in the rooms, so spent a lot of time by the pool. Bring a little portable fan! Also, you need a ticket each day to enter the official park and will need to buy on line. Tours are an add on cost, including the add on cost of special sunrise and sunset entries with guides. You just need to be prepared. .The cost is very affordable though. The hotel will send you a link to the online ticket site."
