NEWLY RENOVATED POOL 2025!

Tired of long ferry lines and crowded beaches? You should head on down to Matagorda, Texas. “Island Time" condo is located on the beach in the Bahia de Matagorda gated community. It has amazing unobstructed ocean views. You can walk over the dunes or drive a short 3 minutes to the beach. Come enjoy the community pool, multiple fishing spots, and of course the beautiful beach!

"Island Time" is a 1300 sq. ft. condo that sleeps 8 comfortably. There are two bedrooms on the 2nd floor with 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds plus a bathroom with a tub/ shower combo. On the 3rd floor there is a loft bedroom with 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds plus a bathroom with a tub/ shower combo. Both TVs have Netflix and Disney+ accounts. Free Wi-Fi is also available.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a Keurig K-Duo slow drip or pods coffee maker. A charcoal grill is provided and may only be used on the ground level. There is a large 2nd floor balcony with a picnic table and four outside chairs. A smaller balcony is located on the 3rd floor with two chairs.

There is coin laundry by the community pool.

All renters must be at least 25 years old

Awesome Matagorda getaway!

We really enjoyed the Island Time condo! The community property with the lagoon and pool was very pleasant and had easy access to the beach. The decks had wonderful views of the ocean and were a great place to sit and watch the sunrise and moonrise over the water. The condo was clean and comfortable with separate areas for extended family. Thank you for a perfect stay!

Perfect location for day at the beach and for East Matagorda Bay wade fishing (no boat). This condo was exactly what we expected and it was perfect for our family of 5. Beach, pool, fish, repeat.

The perfect Getaway

Everything about our stay at this property was perfect! The complex is quiet and the unit has an unobstructed of the dunes and the gulf. The beds and other furniture were also all very comfortable. We will definitely be going back! gulf

Great ocean view

We enjoyed the pool and the ocean at our stay. We watched the sunset on the beach after a short walk through the dune path and at the Matagorda Bay Nature park. It was a beautiful view from the porch & balcony at night with the full moon.

Great place to stay on the beach

This is a great little beach house. Our family w 6 kids was able to stay there very comfortably. The beds were comfortable and the downstairs was nice and cool. The beach is just a short walk over the dunes. The only warning I would issue is that the goat head stickers on the walk through the backyard and the dunes make it absolutely necessary to wear shoes.

Location location location

This property was a perfect location for a short girls’ getaway at the beach. And all-in-all it was wonderful!! While the beach IS within walking distance from the condo, the dunes trail is hilly and uneven and is accompanied by a rather large swarm of aggressive mosquitoes! Like, terrible mosquitoes! The hosts do have bug spray available but we were absolutely bombarded by the pests anytime we were on the ground level of the property until we got to the water. We wished there had been a few extra towels provided including a dishtowel. Other than that, the beds were comfortable and the stay was pleasant!

Quality & Clean Rental

Very clean. No issues with any appliances, etc. Owner communicated quickly and effectively. Only minor complaint is the mattress toppers are too short length wise for the beds so your feet feel like they are "off the bed/on a different level. 4.75 stars.

Peaceful Beach Stay

We enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We stayed after TX school start and so were one of only a handful of groups in this group of beach apartments. Down the road a few miles there's a stores and restaurants. We enjoyed the pool to ourselves for quite a while on one afternoon. We used the kitchen for meals and found all the utensils we needed. The mattresses were excellent. Would come here again for sure.

Great place for family vacation

The home was clean, updated, with very well equipped kitchen for cooking & eating in, and beds were nice & comfy! The location was great as it was a short walk or drive to the beach. If you walk there may be mosquitos so use bug spray (we brought some but host thoughtfully provided spray also). Large patio was beautiful for viewing beach and sunrise/sunsets! Sommer was extremely quick to respond to any question I had before and during the trip. Very helpful!!! We would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed the rental. It was very spacious and comfortable. Decorated very nicely, the beds were very comfortable. Couch was comfortable. Celling fans in all the rooms and additional fans in the rooms as well. The ac works great we were nice and cool. Beautiful views of the beach. We highly recommend the rental.

Beautiful setting

Loved the view. Take your own toilet paper & paper towels & trash bags. Condo was nice. Needs a dresser in room with twin beds. The closet with queen bed was locked so we had to share a closet. Host very nice. Pool nice.

Beach time

We went as an extended family to this location and it was perfect! The kids laid on the porch at night looking at the stars, there’s a short trail to the beach, it wasn’t crowded at all, and the locals were so nice! I’ve been telling everyone since we’ve gotten back home. We did pick up groceries at Walmart in our way in, but there is a small general store for supplies. The locals pointed us in the direction of an old bridge for crab hunting and fishing. When we got there the bridge was full and everyone was so nice and helpful. I can’t wait to go back next year!

Second stay and will stay again!

This was our second stay at Island Time. We found this little gem summer of 2023 and knew we would be back for 2024! Located in a great little gated community right off the road to the beach. You can walk across the dunes as well, but we prefer to drive on with our 4x4. House was just as expected, clean, comfortable beds, plenty of towels and amenities. Club house has a pool and laundry facilities. Washers are free, dryers take $1 in quarters. Plenty of room with two bedrooms down stairs (one with a queen and a second with 2 twin bed) upstairs has a loft bedroom with it own balcony and bathroom (one queen and 2 twin beds). Tv has built in apps such as Netflix, we did take our own Firestick and had no issues. Internet works great! Thank you again Sommer and Keith, we’ll see you next summer!

Perfect!

I had an excellent stay at the beach house. The rental was perfect with no issues during my time there. The air conditioning worked great downstairs, keeping downstairs cool and comfortable even during the hottest days. The upstairs did get a bit warmer, but the owner provided portable fans to help keep the temperature down. The pool was a major highlight, providing a refreshing oasis to relax in after a day at the beach. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The location near the beach was ideal, though the hike down to the water was a bit difficult for someone out of shape like me. But it was still manageable and worth it to have such a great spot so close to the ocean. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a peaceful beach getaway. The owner was responsive and made the whole rental process seamless. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation rental - it exceeded my expectations and I hope to stay here again!

Excellent location!

First time visiting Matagorda. This property was in a great location. We chose to go in early August. Beaches were pretty empty. We did cross the dunes to get to the beach but also drove on with our 4x4 vehicle. Driving was easier. You will need a beach vehicle permit which is $10 at Stanley’s, the local general store. If you do drive on and get stuck, there is a Facebook group you can post on and someone will come and help pull you out (Matagorda off road recovery). We didn’t need this, but thought it was good information to pass along for future tenants. The house was very clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. There is a Keurig duo and a crockpot. Plenty of pots, pan, etc.. The downstairs rooms include one Queen in one room and two twins in the second room. The upstairs loft has another queen with 2 twin beds. Everything has been remodeled with the exception of the shower/tubs, but both worked great. Plenty of towels for everyone. Bring your own beach towels. Laundry facilities in the club house area. Washing is free, dryer is $1 and takes quarters. Pool area is very nice. Will definitely be visiting this house and the area again! Thank you Sommer and Keith for allowing us to stay.
