CLEANING PROTOCOL We professionally clean the rental before your arrival! In addition, out of an abundance of caution during this time, we've upped our cleaning procedures to make sure we're doing our part to keep everyone healthy and safe. Beyond our regular cleaning, here's what other measures we're taking:
- Our housekeeping team is taking extra time to thoroughly disinfect inside the vacation rental, especially on frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs. - Hand soap is also provided at every sink! - All of our sheets and towels are laundered using the highest temperature settings for water to wash and heat to dry. - Just to be overly cautious, we limit in-person contact with all guests providing self checking with a code to enter the property. We've switched to text messaging and phone calls.
Toiletries In consideration of the environment, unlike the practice at many hotels - shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion, facial tissues, and other toiletries are not included. Hand soap is also provided at every sink. The items provided are designed to get your stay started, but are not intended to last the duration of your stay. Guests staying longer than a couple of days are expected to purchase and replenish their own items that they consume.

Very Good

A cozy and quiet place in the forest with a sunrise view. We went with some of our friends and enjoyed . The only complaint I can find is that there was no toilet outside the room and if someone wanted to use the toilet, they had to wait until everyone was awake in the morning before they could go to the toilet.
Place was amazing , love the view and location. Was a very nice escape, sunrise was beautiful.... My only complaint is the microwave. Did not work so made it hard to heat up food. Not a big deal I'll rent this place again
We did have a few minor inconveniences when we first arrived, but we messaged the host and she told us how to fix the issues right away. We wanted a weekend away from the hustle and bustle and we got it. I was really looking forward to the tub, but we were asked to conserve water, which is completely understandable, it’s the entire area ordered to conserve water not just this cabin, after reading other reviews I wish other would understand that as well. The driveway was steep, my Ford Edge it cleared fine but anything low might bottom out. The cabin was beautiful, the wood accents including the stairs are stunning. The best part was sitting on the back porch during a storm. It was very close to some great attractions near the area. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!
The remote location on this beautiful hill has a spectacular view. Having Turkey Bend less than 5 minutes away driving was amazing. It was nice to enjoy some nights around the fire pit with my family. If you like table games, bring your own. We had a relaxing family time!
Overall it was a relaxing stay. The small road entering the neighborhood is pretty steep and have to be very careful driving up and down the steep road. Neighborhood is peaceful and safe. Amenities are good.
I traveled to Texas to visit with my son, DIL and 4 grandsons. I wanted us to make traditional memories. We played games, hiked at Turkey Bend and kids played in the lake. We made S’mores and sung campfire songs. The beds were super comfy. I fell in love with the glass plates to the left of front door. They were super dusty so I cleaned them. The only sad part was the jacuzzi tub did not work. Nor did the spout. It drips very slowly. Be sure to bring all your groceries as it’s a drive to get back to a grocery store. If you want a fire in the backyard- bring a lighter.
My son and his family want to do this yearly and next time stay a week.
Location is very difficult to get to and leave from, nearly bottomed out our car on very steep and rough road. Jet bathtub is unable to be used as the tub spout puts out only a trickle of water. Remotes had no batteries so no TV at all. Upstairs is very hot and doesn’t really cool well.
Overall, not the quality I expected for the price we paid at all. We actually left a day early because it was just not relaxing for us. We did message the owner about this but still haven’t heard back. I wouldn’t recommend this listing…
cute and very welcoming! Everything was as described, and the host was prompt to answer questions or concerns. Our only minor feedback is that the road leading up to it is unpaved/ rough and a bit dicey. perhaps a sign right by the cabin warning drivers of that- might be helpful. The host provides this message in the listing, but it would be helpful to consider adding maybe a warning near property as well. Other than that, the cabin was well appointed- clean, beds for 6, great fire pit, AWESOME view, and it was a great stay!
Loved out stay here.
Owner answers to questions very promptly and super clean bedding sheets and everything. Even had toys for my 3 years old. Definitely recommended for family with toddlers.
The cabin was awesome! It was very hot when we visited, the upstairs area was very hot during the day. The only other issue we had was with hot water, the water didn't get hot, again it was ok because we were so hot when we came in but it may be an issue when it was cooler outside.
This home was perfect for my families needs. Beautiful, serine setting, lots of privacy. Plenty of space in the home for our large family. My kids had their own space upstairs, where they played different board games provided by host. This separation gave us adults time to ourselves. Breathtaking views from the wrap around porch, which is where we enjoyed all of our meals. The host was very responsive, sweet, and helpful. There are some great parks close by along the river for exploring the outdoors. We found our new favorite swimming “hole” in a beautiful park called Shaffer Bend, just a few miles away.
Overall we had a wonderful experience, and made lasting memories as a family! We just moved to Austin from the Houston area, and live very close to this home now. We would love to go back, maybe next time for a kid free getaway!
It's nice being able to see stars from the deck and enjoy dinner and breakfast with those amazing views.
We enjoyed our stay, we'll most likely be back, but hopefully when there isn't a drought. Would love to see more of the water view :)
Thanks!

Cabin-ing like it’s the 1935. Nice views and space.
Getting to the property was a little different, but was not a problem. We were asked to preserve water by taking showers and not tub baths, but we did not have hot water until the last night. We boiled water to take sink baths and to wash dishes. The cabin was quite smaller than it appeared on the website, but it was clean. We could not see the lake, but the view was really nice and the host was very responsive.
Cabin Amenities were as described. Outdoor space was wonderful. The wrap around porch had safety gates which was great for keeping our dogs from wandering. A small area was fenced to allow for semi private outdoor relaxation with the outdoor fire pit. Neighbors were above you when outside so conversation could be heard. Beautiful view of the valley below. Lots of seating to enjoy the scenery when sitting on the porch.
Finding this property especially at night was challenging but the directions provided over vrbo messages was spot on. Just follow that and you will reach the right cabin. This cabin does sleep 8 people but has only 2 queen beds and the rest are single beds. This property has only 2 bathrooms for all members, The rooms were clean. Like the property manager mentioned loads of bugs at night outside the property so enter in the cabin by turning off all lights to avoid them from entering inside. All in all we had a good stay here.
Family of 5 with two dogs. All of us had a great time. The dogs enjoyed the doggie garden and the three teens were happy with all the games.
We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching an abundance of birds.
