"Stayed 6 nights in an overwater bungalow as part of a long trip to the islands of both Hawaii and French Polynesia. Service provided by our assigned concierge, Kea, was better than any butler service I have had over the years at other luxury hotels. The property is lovely and well kept. The bungalow was spacious, updated, and clean. Unfortunately there were a number of things that diminished the overall experience. First, the noise. I’ve stayed in overwater accommodations previously in The Maldives, Indonesia, and Colombia. I am currently at the Intercontinental La Moana in Bora Bora in an over water bungalow. It is serene and wonderful. I anticipated a similar experience of serenity and tranquility in Tahiti. But, instead, I had to listen to very loud music and announcements that went well past 10PM at night. Having traveled the world over the past 35 years I always have silicon ear plugs to dull the noise. Even with the earplugs, however, it was still loud. Some of the noise came from nearby but much of it was from the Intercontinental. In French Polynesia the year round humidity is between 80 and 90 percent. The average daily temperature hovers around 30. The fans in the dining areas were not sufficient to provide a comfortable dinning experience — even in shorts, tank top, and flip flops. The food was mediocre including at La Lotus. WiFi in room was ok but was not available in the gym and other areas of the property. This hotel pales in comparison to many other resorts."
"We were really enjoyed every minute our vacation!
The staff were excellent! I would like to say special thanks for help my request ( birthday surprise) to Maima. She did a great job to prepare my husband surprise present.
The room was spotless the restaurant was great. The bar was fun, many nights were live music on.
The beach and the ocean were clean and gorgeous. The place was overall our expectations.
We spent more than a week in the bungalow.
Highly recommend this place."
"The hotel appears to be fairly new. The room smelt of fresh paint, clean and a good size. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom and kitchenette area was a good size. The location is approximately 15 minute taxi drive from the airport, which was perfect, especially with an early morning flight. The only disappointment is no onsite restaurant. Recommendations were suggested by hotel staff, with a mobile pizza stand just next door. If arriving late at night and travelling alone, you won't have far to walk."
"This wonderful home with the magnificent views was just steps from our own private beach and beautiful Tahitian waters-- where we saw manta rays and lots of gorgeous fish. The home is clean and had all the amenities needed for a most wonderful stay. The beds were confidant... showers all had excelled pressure. A/C in the bedrooms at night for a comfortable sleep. We grilled two nights on the veranda and pinched ourselves each morning that we were sitting in paradise. The house is directly across the street from La Passione, an incredible french patisserie. Terrible for my bathing suit fit - but the most magnifique almond coissant, pain aux raisin and apple tart this side of Paris. The rhum Distillery was also a treat and just a walk across the street...no DD required. We loved having a little distance from Papeete (20 minutes) to acclimate from the long trip and prepare for the cruise. And while the cruise itself was fantastic - my husband would have chosen to stay in this quiet, peaceful home with the stunning views of entire vacation. Alban was a fantastic host - friendly, kind, & responsive. We will return one day."
"Location and view from property were great (about 3 miles to “downtown” area). Follow directions and photos from host to find place or you won’t! Good kitchen amenities with induction stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and all cooking necessities. Hot water in kitchen sink is beyond scalding so beware! Dryer did not work right. Parking is tight but accommodates 1 medium size vehicle. Road leading to property is rough but our Citroen made it but not paved all the way. A/C is a mini-split in bedroom and efficiently cools room. Overall, property is comfortable but needs some much needed general upkeep & maintenance (some of the windows, dryer, Pool is not heated and more of a soaking pool and needs some resurfacing on bottom & the plants cut way back as view is blocked of Moorea mountains from pool. Host responded quickly to all questions."
Consider the meaning of the fascinating stone structures and religious monuments in this open space where Polynesian ceremonies and celebrations were held.
