Extremely Disappointing Experience – Prepaid Booking Not Honored
We booked this hotel through Expedia for a three-night stay and were shocked to discover, upon arriving at the hotel in the evening, that the hotel staff claimed they had no record of our booking.
Even after showing our booking confirmation, the hotel refused to accommodate us and asked us to contact Expedia. When we contacted Expedia, they confirmed that our reservation was confirmed and attempted to resolve the issue directly with the hotel. Unfortunately, both parties appeared to blame each other, and despite the discussions, we were ultimately left without a room or any alternative accommodation.
I understand that technical glitches or system errors can happen, and the issue may have originated with Expedia or the hotel’s booking system. However, the hotel must take responsibility for reservations accepted through its official booking partners. If a hotel chooses to list and sell its rooms on Expedia, it should have a proper process to verify and honor confirmed bookings, especially prepaid reservations.
The most disappointing part was not just the booking issue itself, but the complete lack of a satisfactory solution. We were left stranded in the evening despite having a confirmed, prepaid reservation for three nights.
