Clean inside. This hotel is very clean inside. My room was Big enough with inside bathroom and a 14 " tv. No aire conditioner. The stairs to get up to hotel need to be repaired . If you don't pay attention every time you use them you may be fall. There's no elevator. Besides this, I would come back to this hotel. The location is excellent . A walking distance to most tourist attractions. We stayed here for 5 nights.

If I were backpacking across Europe this might have been tolerable. Otherwise, pretty bottom of the barrel. Let's start with a locked entrance door to the street, covered in graffiti. First you have to use the intercom to buzz into basically a low rent apartment building. The hostal is located on the 4th floor (lower floors are apartments): no lift/elevator. 3 of our 4 people had rather large roller bags which needed to be lugged up (& back down) 4 flights of stairs. The rooms were tiny & old but clean & functional; so decent low budget. Stay were friendly & bi-lingual.

Clean and centrally located, everything you could hope for if you’d like a private room and bath, in a clean and secure building. The ancient stairway to the upper floors is charming for visitors to Madrid.

Shower was tiny and the room had a window that looked out into the hall way … but otherwise accommodations were decent, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space for me/my stuff. For being a hostel it was actually a pretty good deal for the price/location. I would book here again.

Felt like I was in a dorm or staying at a family member’s home. It was cozy and clean. It was a little loud because of the restaurants nearby but wasn’t too bad. Location is perfect!! Would stay here again.

This was our favorite little hotel/hostel we've stayed in Europe! Ok sized bathroom, comfortable bed, 6th floor up old wooden stairs. But the whole place has a cute, quarky interior. And by far, the cleanest place we've every stayed. The stairs and hallways were mopped every day! Rooms the cleanest, and we had a private bathroom. Great location, so many restaurants in every direction. Highly recommend!!! A+

We loved how central we were while staying at Hostal Dolcevita. The staff were super friendly, and everything was neat and clean. If you are looking for a budget stay in Madrid (think one step above hostel), you would probably enjoy staying here. Be warned though, you will be climbing quite a few stairs to get there!

Great location within the gay neighbourhood; close to all the attractions and to good restaurants. Not a particularily comfortable room though, and on the fourth (4th) floor without elevator, so it’s a walk up.

Nice budget hotel

This is a budget hotel on the fourth floor without an elevator and without airconditioning on a busy street. That aside it's nicely done up with friendly staff and I enjoyed my stay in a room facing the courtyard. Madrid had a rare cold snap in late June so I survived without AC

Extremely well located, close by Gran Via and very quiet room. Congratulations to your staff, very helpful and friendly. Only drawback was it was on the third floor and no elevator- so you get your cardio workout! But overall excellent!

Good base on a budget

Decent stay for the price. If you’re looking for a budget place to stay while visiting Madrid this is a good option. Hostal is up a few flights of stairs so if you have issues with walking or climbing, may not be the place for you. Place is fairly old and the bathroom seems to be a recent addition, but it is a plus having one vs. sharing one in other sections of the hostal. No AC, but the the overhead fan worked and kept us cool in the heat. Walkable to everything. Overall, not the fanciest place but was a good stay to set base for our trip to Madrid.

Helpful staff nearly always available. Very clean and beds made for us each day. On one early morning the lock jammed shut n the only toilets/shower available, with no one inside, and it took time for us to realise that no one was inside; so the facilities were out of use for an hour. However once the reception was staffed the staff sorted out the problem very quickly. Overall this was a very good place to stay, exceptionally convenient, and I would strongly recommend it.

The stairs to access the hotel are very worn and a potential safety hazard. Very basic amenities with outdated fixtures. Staff friendly and welcoming. Very hot inside room and bathroom, though there is a bedroom fan. Great access to tourist sites in Central Madrid. It was extremly loud from nearby restuarants and bars.

It is a budget guest house on the 4th floor without elevator . The room was clean, with enough space for one person. The room had a window ( no view) and a build in bathroom unit. The location was superb! I stayed for 2 nights and was not disappointed.

The hotel is in a very busy neighbourhood. Noise from people on the street and bars below are constant. The hotel is on the 4th floor which helps with the noise a bit but no lift so need to be physically ok to stay there. When checking in, reception staff had no English at all so unable to ask, clarify anything. The room was clean but the decor is tired and very stuffy in the room, even with the fan on. Ok for a couple of nights if you intend to just sleep in the hotel, but not in the summer. A kettle and a hairdryer in the room would be a nice bonus. I
