空港近くは利点だが
斬新なデザインのインテリアだが、使い勝手は良くない。シャワールームの扉は水が漏れる。きつく締めると開けられなくなる。空港に歩いて行けるのと、朝四時からの朝食サービスがあるのはありがたい。

the only thing for me I didn't like was the mattress was very hard. I would stay there again, perfect location, great staff and breakfast.

Lovely hotel on Pico island
Lovely hotel on Pico island great breakfast included. Beds are on the firmer side and parking might be a bit of a challenge in peak times but would stay again for sure. Pool area looked great too.

L'hôtel ne mérite certainement pas ses 4 étoiles. Entre un petit déjeuner industriel (on a les confitures dans les bidons plastiques de chez l'équivalent de Métro directement posés pour se servir, les œufs en poudre baignent dans l'eau, le bacon est gris et baigne dans son gras, les jus sont des poudres bourrées de sucres mélangées à l'eau, le café est plus qu'amer, la salle triste à mourrir alors que la terrasse se trouve de l'autre côté de la fenêtre) et une chambre à la propreté douteuse et digne d'un bon 2 étoiles (pas de coffre fort, présence d'un cafard, poussière visible, linge de toilettes plus qu'usé puisque sans couture et plein de fils, meuble abîmé, pas de ménage sur le balcon qui donne sur le parking bruyant lors des arrivées ou départs des voitures et piétons, voir des bus, télévision sommaire, sèche cheveux des années 90, literie très dure, mini bar vide depuis le Covid). Parties communes très tristes. Parking impraticable car les gens se garent n'importe comment et le nombre de place est dérisoire par rapport au nombre de chambre. Bref, fortement déconseillé ( surtout a à ces prix)

Le personnel était très aimable. J'ai aprécié le petit déjeuner pour les "early bird" à 5h30 du matin pour ceux qui commencent leur journée très tôt pour grimper le mont Pico.

The most depressing hotel we have experienced. The hotel staff was unresponsive, excluding the maids. The beds are extremely hard and like sleeping on a rock. The breakfast was simply unedidble.

The hotel is clean, rooms pretty spacious. Easy and convenient walk to ferry. We would have really enjoyed the bar being open in the afternoon, but it was closed for lunch from 13-17 (very typical for small local places). Since it’s a bigger hotel we were surprised to find it closed. We enjoyed the front desk person who agreed to drive us to and from Sao Roque even though it was a festival night.

The property itself is a little dated but the staff keep it clean. I was pleasantly surprised that the breakfast buffet had very fresh selection of fruits and hot food. For the price point, I would stay here again. The hotel also accommodates transfers around the island for a fee, but it's very convenient to set up instead of looking for a taxi.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen zu den Restaurants, Hafen und zu den Ausflugsmöglichkeiten! Das Frühstück ist ausreichend, jedoch wenn man mehrere Tage hier verweilt ist es einseitig. Es gibt keine Abwechslung. Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung. Das Bad passt gut, jedoch die Dusche hat einen sehr geringen Wasserstrahl. Das Team weiß Bescheid wird aber nicht korrigiert. Die Türen und die Gänge/Mauern sind teilweise in Mitleidechaft gezogen. Der Shuttle zum Flughafen wird angeboten aber er muss bezahlt werden. Im Großen und Ganzen waren wir zufrieden.

Gut gelegenes Hotel
Das Hotel liegt praktisch in dem kleinen Hafendorf Madalena. Direkt vor der Tür die Autofähre nach Faial, die ein paar mal am Tag fährt, so kann man auch die Nachbarinsel leicht erkunden. Ebenfalls vor der Tür sind mehrere Autovermietungen und ein paar Büros, wo man Freizeittouren buchen kann. Das Taxi zum Flughafen kostete 15€, die Fahrt dauerte rund 15 Minuten. Im Ort gibt es noch kleine Läden (auch einen Sportladen für Wanderzeugs) und einen großen Supermarkt, mit Burger King. Es gibt einige Restaurants, da muss man aber gucken, ob die auch wirklich geöffnet sind, jetzt im November ist auch vieles geschlossen. Der Hotelservice war nett, es gibt einen Aussenpool und ein gutes Frühstück. Zu erwähnen sind die selbstgemachten Kuchenspezialitäten, die waren echt sehr lecker, nur der Kaffeevollautomat könnte besser sein. Insgesamt ein guter Aufenthalt, ich komme gerne wieder

Old, tired, smells bad and not clean
Old, tired, smells bad and not clean. Bathroom was covered in limescale, with very low water pressure. Balcony was covered in dust and spider webs, and the outdoor chairs were so dusty. Bad, cheap breakfast. Very dark hotel, like an old hospital. I Will not come back again. And certainly don't recommend it. Very expensive and you will find somewhere better for this price.

Hotel Caravales Madalena Pico Island
Our room was on the outer edge of the hotel overlooking the back of a nearby bar/ restaurant,, not a good view. The balcony only had one chair which was broken, on the seconday, a second chair arrived, also broken. As always with Portuguese people, staff friendly and helpful. Hotel looking a little tired, in need of external decoration. Breakfast Ok, 3* standard.

Very good and practical location, provide onsite parking. Rooms are fine but bed is noticeable hard. Breakfast was fine.

Quase Perfeito.
A estadia, curta e de apenas uma noite, não foi perfeita. E isso deve-se ao facto do controlo remoto da TV ter caído ao chão, indo um pouco para baixo da cama e tendo-me forçado a constatar que existirá alguma falta de profissionalismo ao nível da limpeza do quarto. No que respeita a tudo o resto desde o check in/check out, instalações, a vista desde a varanda do quarto, ou o excelente buffet do pequeno almoço, não tenho nada a assinalar. A localização é estupenda. Existe muito estacionamento disponível. Um dia que regresse, voltarei a equacionar este hotel porém, assim que entre no quarto, vou certificar-me que a limpeza do foi efetiva e totalmente garantida.

Good hotel
Good hotel, located just steps from the ferry terminal. Good eateries are within a couple of blocks of the hotel. Breakfast is good.

Mediocre Hotel in Madalena
I was not very happy with my stay at Hotel Caravelas. It is very run down looking and not like the photos on the website. The location is good but it was not worth what I paid.

Definitely not a 4 Star
We arrived to the best hotel in Madalena and found out it was the only hotel in Madalena. Check in was easy that was fine, hotel is ancient. We arrived to our room to experience that sleeping on the floor would have been better then our so called mattress which was probably as old as the hotel. There are no food options in the hotel just a simple ham and cheese sandwich which was mediocre at best. Numerous noises at all hours when someone showers, construction from outside, not peaceful at all. Stay in a B and B Instead. I do have to say however the only positive is that we could walked the wine tasting and museum from the hotel. It was close by and so was Grutas Des Torres.
