2. Villa "Casa Da Pontinha" with Sea View, Private Garden, Outdoor Pool & Wi-Fi

Machico

"The house was spotless and a good location to get on highway. It was near the airport and could hear planes landing and taking off but did not hear planes after 11 p m. The owner lives in lower level and was very nice but did not speak much English and I do not speak Portuguese so checking in was a little complicated. I liked the location it was not as busy as Funchal and overlooked the mountains. The island is spectacular and would definitely recommend a stay on this island. "

"We had a group of 7 friends stay for 3 nights in this quiet country home tucked away in the mountains. It was a good spot for our large with beautiful landscape and great stargazing nights. Andrew communicated clearly the instructions for arriving to the house from the airport and we kept in touch as needed. It was a bit cooler there than in the city center, so sadly we didn't get to use the pool but it was a nice relief in general from the hotter air in Funchal. The beds were comfortable and...

"Die Besitzer empfingen uns sehr freundlich. Die Villa ist sehr großzügig gebaut. Die Kombination von Ess- und Wohnzimmer ist sehr groß und bietet sehr viel Platz für viele Personen. Man kann einen Großteil der Fensterfront öffnen und hat ca. 6m Durchgang in den sehr schönen Garten. Der Ausblick ist herausragend. "Casa Do Loureiro was spacious, very clean, and very well decorated. It was comfortable, and included a third floor outdoor balcony with a view of the Atlantic and surrounding neighborhood. There were a couple of bus stops within blocks of the apartment, making it relatively easy to make to downtown Funchal (a 20-minute ride).Beyond the property, the host (Clara, an artist) was outstanding... very considerate, responsive, and professional. We were all terribly impressed with her. "

Top Machico Hotel Reviews

Hotel Riu Madeira - All Inclusive

10/10 Excellent

"Beautiful views. Food was amazing and so was the service. Entertainment was great too."

Barcelo Funchal Oldtown

8/10 Good

"Amazing location, in perfect location for discovering Funchal. Staff are outstanding and breakfast buffet is excellent! Our room was very clean, nice decor and super comfy bed! Only negative for hotel is there are no views from your room (since we were out all day exploring this didn’t matter at all)"

The Editory Garden Carmo Funchal

10/10 Excellent

"We had a great stay here while on our honeymoon! The beds were comfortable and the staff was wonderful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the rooftop pool - although there was never anyone working in the bar at the rooftop pool, but that didn't effect us. The location was convenient for us and we would stay here again!"

Pestana Carlton Madeira Ocean Resort Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Very nice and spacious hotel room. Hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating whenever we had any questions or requests. The breakfast buffet was great too with lots of variety to choose from, as well as staff members clearing tables and providing utensils very quickly."
