"Sandy and John are what Cape Breton hospitality is all about. Their well appointed home has everything you need and more. The magical path to the beach is lit with fairy lights and although a fire ban was in place during our visit we enjoyed their deck fire pit on crisp October nights. The house is secluded and surrounded by beautiful fall foliage. Internet and a large screen smart tv are available for rainy days. Not a sound was heard or a living soul spotted during our stay and we slept oh so well. Our only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer. John and Sandy are responsive hosts and we highly recommend their lovely home. "

"We had a great time, dinning was lut of this world. Coming from an area where lobster is one of the main industry, I can say whiteout a doubt, I had the best lobster supper ever at the Bedeck lobster supper. "

"This place is perfect for groups of all ages with lots to do, an abundance of beautiful views, gathering spaces and quiet places.The accessibility to the Bras D'Or Lake is wonderful even our 88 yr old father could drive down to the beach area and take in the beauty! The home has many thoughtful games, books and finishing touches to make the place ideal for a gathering. We loved the large table our big family could gather around. The teens loved the pool table and dart board and the seniors in our group enjoyed the accessibility of the main floor area (large rooms, walk in shower etc). The kitchen was very functional and well equipped. We really enjoyed these exceptional homes and would come back in a heart beat! "

"Mentioned some maintenance observations and was told these were in the listing. But not when I booked. One shower not working, no laundry. There were 2 other showers though. Otherwise the place offered many sitting areas inside and out. There were helpful tips about fire regulations.View of lake may be an overstatement. Yes, could see a bit. No direct access.Highlight was seeing a fox trot across the lawn at twilight."

"We had an incredible stay at Lazy Bear cottage! The view was absolutely stunning, and the hosts Alexandra and the Mashaghati family thought of everything. The interior was spotless, with charming decor that made the space feel cozy and welcoming. The bed was super comfy, and there were plenty of towels provided for both the hot tub and bathroom. We especially appreciated the thoughtful extras like robes and slippers, which added a luxurious touch. After long days of exploring the beauty of Cape Breton, the hotter and fire pit on the porch were the ultimate way to unwind - peaceful, relaxing, and just perfect. Every amenity was provided, even coffee to start our mornings right. This rental truly sets the bar for what all others should strive to achieve. A five-star experience in every way! "
