Good location. Adequate capacity
In general this was a successful weekend break. The accommodation was sufficient for the number of guests, the house was light and airy and the kitchen especially matched our expectations. However there were a number of issues…the presentation of the house was inconsistent with the big picture window in the dining area in a filthy state. We tried to clean it ourselves but this was only moderately successful. I thought the lawn was also very disappointing. Of course the recent dry weather has been unhelpful, but there were more weeds than grass with one especially prickly nettle causing distress to my five year old granddaughter. Photographs available; they wouldn’t upload. I also felt that the various notices around the property about shoes in the house, balls against the fence and noise between 8pm and 8 am created an unwelcoming atmosphere; as responsible adults we know how to behave. They left the same impression as the dos and don’ts about the use of the hot tub which led to us reconsidering and cancelling that booking. And finally I found the entire booking process via email and app complex and impersonal. I would prefer to be dealing with one person or organisation alone; instead there were communications from Vrbo, Light Lodge (Claire, Christine or Jackie), the host, Wildly New Forest and Dine Indulge and I only managed to speak to a human being once (Christine I think?) after a specific request. So my feedback is of a nice property let down by inattention to detail.
