About this property

Waterfront Beach House close to everything!

  • This charming, historic, and beautifully appointed beachfront house features two bedrooms (one room with an attached bath has a Queen bed and another room with a single bed) and sleeps three. The cottage is stocked with everything you will need for an easy getaway. Enjoy the large deck overlooking the breathtaking views of Mt. Baker and the Sisters, watch the ferry, the Whatcom Chief, sail back and forth, take a soak in the deep tub, read by the fireplace, put your kayak in the water, and adventure, or go for a bike ride or hike. You will find yourself within walking distance of the local Beach Store Cafe (just across the street but please check the website to see hours of operation as they are limited), and the local grocery store. Conveniently located only a five-minute walk to the ferry and on the picturesque 7-mile loop which is great for walking and bike riding. Despite the proximity to Vancouver BC and Seattle, Lummi Island feels like it is a 'world away'. The Beach House was built in 1933 and has a long history on Lummi Island, and at one time served as the local library. With a complete Sunset Magazine-worthy remodel couldn't be sweeter.

The beach house had everything we needed for a relaxing, comfortable getaway. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the Islander store in one direction and the Curry Preserve in the other. We fell in love with Lummi Island and look forward to coming back!

Scenic cozy getaway with water views

The house was very comfortable and had the water views we were looking for. We loved the ferry crossing back and forth. It’s a quite community and the locals are friendly. We enjoyed wandering the beach at low tide.

So close to the ferry and shop and an exceptional view of Mount Baker. The Beach House was an unexpected winner for take out, including a delicious sundae. Beach was also an easy stroll to get to, which the dogs loved. So relaxing, I would def recommend for a small party

The Beach Cottage

This is a wonderful spot for watching the sunrise, sea birds, and the fabulous Whatcom Chief ferry. The rocky shore is just steps away and there are many fine island adventures to be had nearby when you can pry yourself away from the view.

Wonderful Beach House !!

We loved the location right on the water with beautiful views of Mt Baker. The house was very comfortable with everything we needed. Great location which allowed us to bike ride and kayak. Enjoyed wine tasting with the locals and the charm of the island and just sitting out on the deck! Communication was fast and easy with the owners and they were happy to accommodate us- We will be back again!

Peaceful retreat

My husband and I stayed for our 25th anniversary. The house was exactly what we expected and more. The view from the deck was amazing which is why we spent the majority of our time there. Highly recommend, if you are looking for peace and quiet.

We had a lovely time at the Beach House. We love watching the Ferry go to and fro and one day Mt Baker was stunning with how the sun glinted off the mountain! Loved having our dog with us too! :)

Lovely house in a wonderful spot. Very well maintained. We definitely look forward to staying here again when our travels take us to Lummi Island. Angie, the host, was particularly helpful and accommodating as we were traveling to Lummi during the annual ferry drydock period. We could only get across on the walk-on ferry, which had an abbreviated schedule.

A Beautiful Place

We have been visiting Lummi Island for 18 years. Angie, who manages the property epitomizes the kind and caring people that we have come to meet on the island. The house is perfect for us. The view of the water and the ferry coming to and with Mt Baker in the background is awe-inspiring. The bed and couch are comfortable. The kitchen is perfect for our needs. Lummi Island, the place and the people are beautiful.

Magical cottage for an intimate getaway

This was our second stay at this historic property, the former library on secluded Lummi Island. When its clear you'll look out the picture window in the living room and see a perfectly framed view of Mt Baker in the distance. When it's cloudy you'll still enjoy inspiring views of the water (Hale Passage), the birds, the trees on the Lummi Reservation, and the little ferry that chugs back and forth daily, serving the island. With only one small grocery store, you'll want to plan ahead for your meals. The fabulous Beach Cafe offers epicurean delights (really!) but is only open Friday and Saturday afternoon/evening.
