Overall I would give this place a 6/10. The host was very responsive and helpful. The location is great for being close to Universal Studios. The house is very specious, which we appreciated with 4 kids. Loved tvs in all the rooms The beds were a little disappointing . The master king mattress is really firm and a little lopsided on the left sided. My wife and I switched sides each night and she said the same thing about the bed. I would recommend getting a new mattress Before arriving at the property I was not thrilled to recieve a message from the host about not having stocked toiletries and trash bag liners. That is the last thing I want to worry about when I am vacationing. I had to buy toilet paper, trash bags, shampoo, and body wash. I’ve never had to do that before at a vacation rental. Last thing I will mention is the garage does not open from the inside with the clicker. Do not shut it behind you! I am so grateful I had my phone when I shut the garage while inside. I started to panic after realizing it was not opening and called my wife come down to help me get out. I had to hand the clicker through a small crack under the garage door to my wife outside. I don’t know if the battery was almost dead but it finally opened after being in there for 40min. We about called for help. I didn’t say anything during the trip because I didn’t want to spend any of my trip arguing with the host. We were just there for 3 nights and spent our days at Universal Studios.

The kitchen had everything needed for a group of nine, easily. The home was supper clean and ready for us to stay in. The area was very quiet in a pleasant neighborhood. The only drawback to this location were the steps but they were only a slight problem. The youngest, 4 years old, and the oldest, 81 years old had some difficulty navigating the stairs. But once inside everything was great. This was so much better than staying at a hotel. Very much like staying at a resort, without the crowd. Access to and from Universal Studios was amazing, less that ten minutes. The beds were very comfortable and even the pillows were great. Plenty of room to hang out and visit with the family inside and on the patio. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again with this many people in the group. Check-in and check-out were easy and much appreciated. Thank you to Ann for being just a message away.

Great Location for a Family Universal Studios VacationThe location was perfect for visiting Universal Studios! Check-in was very easy — the host provided clear instructions and helpful information about nearby stores and places in the area.However, a few things to note: the listing mentions garage parking, but the garage is being used as a gym, so parking is on the street. Also, be sure to bring your own shampoo and body wash, as only hand and dish soap are provided.The home could use a bit more attention to cleaning, inside and outside. We had to look for towels and eventually found them in the dryer. Even though the house is a little outdated, that’s never been an issue for me — cleanliness matters more, and I feel that area could be improved.Overall, it’s a convenient stay for families planning to visit Universal Studios, with a few minor things that could make the experience even better.

Overall house was in a great location. We stayed there 2 years ago. Since then house has dated. It is in need of a deep clean. Kitchen utensil drawers need cleaned. Baseboards wiped and appliances need wiped down. Backyard furniture is filthy. Beds are not comfortable. Probably will not come back to this house.

The location was the best part and the neighborhood was quiet. However, we needed up leaving early due to the cleanliness from beds to floors. We didn’t use the downstairs bed due to the sheets and cover being filthy with hairs and stains. The sofa bed wasn’t any better as the mattress cover was dirty as well. We reported all the issues found as we left but unless you take pictures of every issue and report it upon arrival, it’s pointless. It’s very disappointing since I read the reviews when I booked this property but apparently the previous reviews before my stay noted the cleanliness as well just not as bad as we experienced.

We were able to easily access this home conveniently located in the Hollywood Hills and appreciated the detailed directions left by the owner. Plenty of street parking and be prepared for the steep entry stairs. There was minimal towels and kitchen dishes available. The home is dated and could use a good deep cleaning. The main television and sound system advertised as state of the art did not work and owner did not repair during the time of our week long stay, even though they were notified at the time of our check in.

Excellent Location and Comfortable Home!

We had a great stay at this property. The location is fantastic for exploring LA, and it really can't be beat if you're going to Universal. The street parking was never a problem - we got a space within a 1/4 block of the house each time. The host provided extremely detailed and helpful instructions for everything - much appreciated! The house itself is, as other reviews have noted, more "vintage" than "luxury" - "dated" is not inaccurate. But the price is totally reasonable for what you are getting. Beds were comfy, plenty of blankets and towels for our group of seven, and the morning light in the dining room was so lovely. We would happily stay again!

Great location!

The house is in a fantastic location! Very nice, safe area. Quiet, beautiful property and great communication with the owner/property manager. House is a little dated, but the price is right and I really think you can't beat this location if you want to bring your family to Universal Studios. Would definitely stay again!!

Fantastic Getaway Home

The property is located within a great area for recreation and dining. There were no issues ever with noise or disturbances and the overall neighborhood is very clean and welcoming. The interior of the property, while dated and very vintage (both of which were openly disclosed and expected), is very accommodating and even with a large group of people we never felt cramped or claustrophobic in the home. The home has standard amenities available and everything worked properly when we needed it, no issues at all. The home felt safe and secure with no concerns during our stay. The gym could probably use a bit of an update but we weren't there enough to truly make use of it or care enough to complain, it's a home gym that functions as such. Parking is definitely TIGHT and can be a bit daunting depending on activity during your stay but it is absolutely not a deal-breaker and never caused enough of an issue where we wouldn't return. The neighborhood is altogether just in a tight, nook area with tight streets and pathways, none-of-which are uncommon for the area or the ages of the homes there. The home was definitely clean and there were no real issues other than a few areas needing some slight TLC, restoration, and updating. These were small things like plugs that are older and do not hold wall chargers well, bathrooms in need to fan-forced ventilation, and a few windows or walls that could use small touch-ups. Absolutely nothing that causes any troubles. Overall Great!

Very accommodating

Ann was an excellent host. Responded quickley to all of our issues and graciously adjusted our stay when I discovered I booked the wrong dates. The house was everything advertised. The location is close to Universal Studios but not close enough to walk. We used uber to get there and back and avoided the parking fees. All in all it was an excellent stay.

We had some trouble checking in. Make sure get confirmation from property manager they received your drivers license. This caused us trouble check in. House was clean. Enough space for all. Parking on street was horrible. There's no space and curbs high scrape bottom of door. We liked it since 5 minutes drive next to Universal Studio.

Great place to stay

Nice house in a nice neighborhood! Beautiful views and easy access to Universal Studios. Grandma, 2 parents and 2 kids all fit and were comfortable in our own spaces.

Perfect location, beautiful neighborhood

This was the perfect place for our family of 6 to stay while visiting Universal Studios and Hollywood. Thank you for maintaining such a beautiful property and for the excellent communication.

Vintage

This house is in a great location & was a good fit for what we needed. The boys enjoyed having their own space downstairs, but it does not have a door, so I would not call it a bedroom. The title of Luxury is a bit misleading, I like vintage better. It has some dated furniture & decor. It could use a new coat of paint on the inside. But being a family of 6 with kids ranging from 6-12, we were happy with the location & had a great time at Universal.
