We had a great stay at this lovely home. It was even nicer than the pictures. Very clean and easy to check in. Great neighborhood, easy to park in driveway. Lots of nice touches--wine, chocolate etc. Only gripe, I wish the shower had more pressure.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house has the charm of a historic house with all the modern amenities one would need. It has a beautiful backyard and is in a very peaceful and cute neighborhood. It was a short trip, so we didn’t get to explore much, but it seemed to be in a nice central location close to lots of stores and restaurants.
This house is lovely with a beautiful garden to enjoy. Is in a lovely quiet neighborhood but close to plenty in Pasadena. It was perfect for us with some very nice welcoming touches by the host.
We had a nice stay in Pasadena. Russ was easy to communicate with and the large yard was very convenient while traveling with our dog. Pasadena has good food and great shopping. Good choice for parents with older kids.
This listing exceeds expectations. It's thoughtfully decorated and has everything you would ever need. Kitchen is excellent, location very convenient for a Pasadena stay, plenty of room, great backyard and wonderful owner. I will stay here every single time I return to Pasadena!
My family and I stayed in this wonderfully located Historic Highland home in Pasadena as a home away from home after the Altadena fires. Russ was hospitable and easy to work with. The home is charming and comfortable and has everything you'd need for a meal in, or you're within walking distance of great restuarants. If you're visiting Pasadena this location is perfect to take in all the sites. Thank you Russ!
The home was exactly as advertised. Clean, comfortable, and in an excellent location.
Communication was excellent with the property manager (Russ). The house was well equipped and had comfortable furnishings, beds, and linens. Great neighborhood to walk around--a bunch of historic bungalows homes to admire. The location was perfect for us--near the various things we wanted to visit (Gamble House, Huntington Gardens, Museums, and downtown Pasadena).
A very nice place to stay. I would stay here again.
My wife and I, our 4 year old, and our dog absolutely loved this home-away-from-home. The property was immaculate and charming. Thoughtfully furnished and extremely well-appointed - you will have everything you need and more. Russ was incredibly responsive and accommodating. One of the best rental experiences I have ever had!
This is the house that you will want to stay at! We had the pleasure of staying at this home for a week and it was perfect. From the moment that you walked in the door, you will feel at home, with nothing lacking! The owner was in constant communication to ensure that every need was met. Enjoy your coffee inside on the cooler morning or in the well maintained backyard. The neighborhood is quiet, everyone is friendly and loves your furry companion!
What a lovely home! We were welcomed with fresh flowers, wine, chocolates, sparkling clean, well appointed kitchen & bathrooms, pleasant dining room, spectacular living room (what a fireplace!!) and comfortable bedrooms. We just didn't have enough time to enjoy the spacious, well groomed backyard. Our host was helpful throughout our stay - easy to contact and a good communicator. This was our first visit to Pasadena but it won't be our last, now that we've found a fine place to stay.
Everything about this home was special. It was one of the best experiences of a rental home I’ve ever experienced. The cute and classic house details, the location and the gorgeous landscaping in this very special neighborhood… we hope to be back later this year. I admit, I picked 2 lemons from one of the beautiful citrus trees and brought them home with me! Thank you.
My husband and I traveled with my elderly mother to stay near my LA-based brother for two weeks. This house was absolutely perfect for us. Thankfully, with cooler than average weather, the heating system was first rate. The kitchen was easy to work in, the back yard absolute heaven, Russ super responsive and nice, beds extremely comfortable, lovely linens and towels, little extras in the bathroom much appreciated. The neighborhood could not be prettier. We did a lot of hiking and little driving because the San Gabriels are at the doorstep. LOVED THIS HOUSE
We loved our trip to Pasadena and stay. Though we had a slight challenge with the A/C during our stay (it was record heat that week!), everything else worked nicely. The home was super cute with charm. The closets were huge, the beds were comfy and was great for our family. The owner and manager was 100% responsive to our needs and went out of his way to accommodate us by offering us an alternate option just down the road when the AC issue couldn't be resolved in a timely manner. I LOVED the bouganvillea outside and the natural light in the home was one of the best things my husband and I enjoyed. Just right!
The one recommendation I have is to make sure guests know how to turn on the kitchen faucet. I'm not sure if it was in the folder, but there was a sensor on the side that needed to be activated in order to have water come out. It took me a minute to figure out, but once I did, it worked just fine! I highly recommend this place or any by the owner/host, Russell! Thank you!
Disappointing Stay - Rat Infestation and Maintenance Woes
We encountered a rat infestation during our stay on Aug. 28, 2023 when rat feces were found in the bed next to our 2-year-old son's crib, in the closet, and underneath the kitchen sink. Despite notifying the owner promptly, the response lacked urgency. Pest control took two days to address the issue, with the owner absent during one session and requesting unsupervised access for another.
On Sept. 6, we discovered a second round of rat feces in the foyer, prompting our immediate departure due to healthy/safety concerns. The owner offered no credit for the first infestation, so upon the second discovery I requested a refund for the previous infestation and the days I would be losing due to leaving early (5 total).
There were a few days of absence in response, and then the owner stated that the second droppings were suspect (his personal exterminator couldn't find an access point) and only credited for ONE day.
I waited to write a review attempting to deal with the matter with VRBO directly. I got no response through email or phone and had to continuously call them until I finally informed today, 1/11/24, that I would only be credited ONE day.
Won't be using VRBO again or staying at this host's MANY properties.
P.S. Would post a video and pictures of what we dealt with, but that is not an option.
