I booked this property after canceling my initial reservation due to a bad review. This due to the host canceling without notice and claiming a plumbing issue.I have never had an issue with a VRBO booking however I should have known better when I was unable to contact the host either by message via the app or by phone (on my own and with VRBO support). I finally did reach the host 3 days before check in via telephone and was told my check in information would be sent via the VRBO app. It never was.When we landed on Friday, I contacted the host via telephone. He said he call me right back. He did not. When we arrived at the property address, I called him back. He told me we couldn't stay at the property. When pressed, he said someone just checked out and there was a problem - a plumbing problem. He then asked me if we needed to stay in Pasadena - which of course we did. He tried to offer me a second property for the same price in Irvine. I may not live in California but I have spent enough time there to know that is an hour away on a good day. I then requested an immediate refund which to his credit he did provide. At 4:30 pm on a Friday - a day before a large festival - we had to find a hotel in a city where 83% of the hotels were booked.
