Sandhill House - Large and Spectacular Lakefront Home with Water Toys!

"We had an absolutely wonderful week at Sandhill House. The setting is special — tucked at the end of a private drive, surrounded by woods and quiet, with beautiful Long Lake at the bottom of the yard. It’s the perfect backdrop for a family trip: our five-year-old twins spent every day between the dock, the water, and the yard, and every evening we were fishing and watching the sun go down.The house itself is comfortable and spacious, thoughtfully furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen that made cooking for the family easy all week (the gas grill got a workout). Central AC kept everything cool, and there was room for everyone to spread out without ever feeling far apart. The kayaks and canoe were a highlight — we were on the water constantly — and the swimming was fantastic.The location is a great home base too: minutes to Crystal Lake and Beulah, a short drive to Frankfort, and an easy day trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes.We made memories here we’ll be talking about for years. We could not recommend Sandhill House more, and we’re already planning to come back next year."

"This was our second stay here. It’s quiet, isolated in the woods, but close to Platte lake public access, river float rental, nice Lake Michigan beaches, and trails in sleeping bear dunes national seashore. The Manatou restaurant is right down the road, and downtown Frankfort is about 20 minutes away. The king bed is comfortable, the kitchen small but functional, the air conditioning works great, and it’s dog friendly! Check in/out is easy, and the host is responsive to inquiries.I would stay again if we are back in the area."

"Jerry was great and we enjoyed his place for our week up north. Very clean cabin with everything we needed for our stay. The cabin is located in the perfect place surrounded by all of the attractions Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore has to offer. A"

"This property was the perfect getaway for our multigenerational group. The lake was very shallow near the dock, perfect for the little kids to play. The multitiered deck area offered lots of comfortable places for the adults to supervise and enjoy the view.The bedrooms were clean, comfortable, and accommodating. There were actually two sets of staircases leading upstairs. (A nice feature!) This allowed the early bird grandparents to head downstairs for a coffee in the morning without waking others. In addition to the three bedrooms, there was a large landing area upstairs, where the kids enjoyed playing games. This part of Northern Michigan can’t be beat. We enjoyed the dunes, all sorts of swimming, and several adorable beach towns nearby. We will be reminiscing on this wonderful experience for many years to come. Thanks for the great stay!"

"We had an amazing and peaceful time. Perfect location, super clean, air conditioning worked better than I would have expected for a small unit. The WiFi password didn’t work but we didn’t really need it. The host was very responsive and ready to help make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommend."
