Otherwander Soho Pod Hotel (ADULTS ONLY)

"Was very impressed with this facility, it being the first time I’ve used a pod hotel. I would describe it as an upmarket hostel, but with excellent and modern facilities. Check in and access was very clear and modern, with e/tickets sent to your phone. Pods were comfortable (if a little snug, but you absolutely should expect this given it is deliberately a ‘pod only’ experience. I paid £7 extra for an upstairs pod, thinking that it might avoid any noise from upstairs neighbours. However, I found the very compact stairs to climb up to my pod a little awkward, especially with a heavy rucksack, so if I stayed again, I would opt for a downstairs pod. The whole property was spotlessly clean and well maintained, and I expect has only been open less than a year. My only criticism was that my pod was cold. I deliberately chose this hotel as it had air conditioning and knew that I’d be staying in the summer. However, the air conditioning control unit in my pod seemed ‘stuck’ on 19 degreee. It did let me press the buttons to increase the temperature, but it made no difference, even when I increased it to 23 degrees which was the maximum."

"We stayed for 6 nights and was very impressed withe the way the hotel looked on the outside and in the lobby area. Our check-in experience was great! After that I was disappointed with the view from our room...you could see people from other room so no privacy if you want to keep the curtains open...very weird layout of the hotel. Cleanliness - 5 out of 10. Fridge, drawers and windows were not clean at all. The wall in the bathroom was dirty from a spilling beverage...and so on. Not impressed. Another thing was that when we would come back to the room all the lights were on and the air conditioner set up to a different temperature then what we left it. It felt like someone was in our room. We brought it up to the manager. He told us that he checked and no one came into our room. Still it felt like they were very dismissive. I would suggest some improvements...like the fridges that they used to be minibars (but not anymore) be change with regular fridges without all the sensors and wires. "
