Do not go there. Dirty, not got water, zero help from staff. I booked for 5 days and left after 2, even if it was not refundable. Really a bad place to stay.

very good location. behind the building is Main Street. I believe that is bloomsbury wy where there are lots of shops, restaurants. Russell square garden is just cross the street. Walking distance to British museum, Soho square, Oxford St, and two tube stations nearby. It takes 30 mins from airport to Tottenham court station by Elizabeth line. I don't think Thanet can be ranked 3 star hotel. However, after 3 days stayed over there, the little room with London give me the good memory.

We stayed here because our train was cancelled and needed somewhere to stay last minute. It was fine. The staff was very friendly, the room was ok. Very outdated and needs repairs but for one night it was fine.

Staff polite and informative. No milk. Shower braket broken. Shower curtain and rail missing. Staff informed seemed suprised! So I showed him the picture of the damage. Room was clean and tidy. Good for the price in central London.

Prepare to be disappointed. Single room in the basement. Awful. Uncomfortable bed. Noisy. Poor bathroom. Creepy. The location is good and it's cheap. That's all.

Won’t ever want to go there Their basic room does not come with private shower or toilet. It’s down the hall. Your site skipped mention of this fact and I m very disappointed by lack of transparency by the hotel and Expedia. I upgraded the second night for 15 GBP extra with private toilet and shower, but it did not have soap, shampoo or body wash. Horrible experience , terrible service on a super hot day in London

A unique experience living in an old building turned hotel. The staircase to our room was narrow and winding. The wooden floor made creaking sound and some parts of the carpet were torn with nails protruding. Despite the creaking floor, the beds and linen were clean and comfortable. Suitable for short stay and backpackers.

I stayed in room 17 which was cheap but at a cost. The basement room had an issue with a poorly draining sink and shower, so taps could only be run for a few seconds. Batteries for tv remote were dead. Overall good value for the price despite sacrificing some comfort.

In the app or online (even in the welcome book! In the room) It said breakfast included. However this wasnt correct. Also the TV remote on off button needs attention. And toilet seat needs securing. All in all though its a lovely place with friendly people and a nice atmosphere so I enjoyed my visit.

The room was dirty, no light shade, mattress was old and lumpy, pillows were the same. Very dated, carpet was dirty and i didnt want to walk on it. Had it been for more than one night we would definitely have checked in somehwere else.

It was awful, i had to move rooms twice, beds are broke and everything, mold in the rooms, along with dirty bedding, i complainted and they said nothing they can do any more as moved once already. Please avoid at all costs.

There was nothing on the Expedia listing to suggest that the room I was booking had a shared bathroom/toilet. This needs to be listed explicitly. I would not have booked here as a woman travelling by myself had I known that I'd be sharing a toilet with a bunch of men. The toilet was not clean. The room was clean enough but very rough (unhemmed and water-stained curtain, some spots on the bedding, carpet warn, marked walls). I wouldn't stay again because of the shared bathroom particularly, and am really annoyed that I booked this without my knowing (other hotels had this listed explicitly, so I chose this one because it didn't say the toilet was shared... not cool).

Wouldnt recommended

The room was dirty bed had hair and stains in it , the shower was poor and nearly flooded the bathroom. Didnt off any soaps pr anything and the noise from outside made it unbearable to sleep. The no lift access especially with heavy luggage was not ideal

Very poor.

The bed sheets were clean. There the compliments end. Missing glass holder in bathroom. Missing towel rail in bathroom. No plug in sink. Huge crack and leak in sink. Bathroom fan not working. Showere dirty. Net curtsins disguisting. Stains on carpet. No breakfast available. Bedside light not working. Hair dryer wiring dodgy. Room not refreshed at all during our four day stay.

Please please avoid... an honest review!

Paid of the Thanet Hotel NOT the annex which is cheaper. However, we were put in the annex anyway. Stairs were awful, like a car park etc. Our room I actually can't describe how bad it was for £150! Curtains falling down, bathroom door didn't shut. Had one random table with stains and a chair that was falling apart. Half the wall was cream, half yellow. Cracks and damp in the ceiling. Honestly, I never leave reviews. I often think well we will be okay, but honestly, please don't stay here. Pay a bit more and stay somewhere safe, comfortable and clean. They should be ashamed of themselves.
