Nestled in the heart of historic Shad Thames, our boutique collection of spacious, eco-friendly apartments offers a truly immersive stay, inviting you to step into London’s rich history while enjoying modern comforts. Just a stone’s throw from London Bridge, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, The Tanners Studios provides the perfect sanctuary in the heart of the city.
This charming apartment offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it the ideal space to relax and unwind. The living room, full of character, features a cozy sofa bed perfect for one extra guest and a 42" flat-screen TV with Netflix, perfect for enjoying quality time with your group.
The open-plan kitchen blends rustic charm with modern convenience and comes fully equipped with everything you need to cook and dine comfortably during your stay.
Complimentary tea and instant coffee are also provided for your convenience.
Each apartment has been carefully curated, with individually selected antique furnishings and distinctive design details that bring the building’s history indoors. Original timber beams and brickwork have been thoughtfully preserved and reused, breathing new life into a building that dates back more than 120 years.

The apartment is just a stone’s throw from the Bermondsey Beer Mile, Bermondsey Street, Shad Thames, Borough Market and London Bridge. Within a mile you’ll find an incredible range of places to explore — from independent breweries and historic pubs to riverside restaurants and some of London’s most famous markets.
The Bermondsey Beer Mile is home to a number of renowned breweries, including Hawkes and The London Beer Factory. Tucked beneath the railway arches, each venue offers its own unique tasting experience, making it a must-visit destination for craft beer lovers.
There is also an exceptional variety of restaurants right on your doorstep. From elegant riverside dining spots to the vibrant food stalls of Borough Market — one of London’s busiest and most celebrated food markets — there is something for every taste.
The building itself dates back to the 1800s and has witnessed London’s transformation from its debaucherously mysterious past into the modern metropolis you see today.
Located in Shad Thames, beside the historic docks of London, this area once welcomed ships returning from across the world carrying spices, teas and dried fruits. Because of this, the neighbourhood became known as the “larder of London”.
Directly opposite the building you can see the River Neckinger inlet, where the tides of the Thames still wash in and out each day. In the 17th century this wharf was known as a hangman’s row for convicted pirates. Many were executed here, with the name Neckinger believed to derive from the term “devil’s neckcloth”, a slang reference to the hangman’s noose.
The pubs surrounding you are among the oldest in London. The George Inn on Borough High Street was rebuilt in 1677 following the Great Fire of London and remains one of the city’s most historic taverns. It is said that Charles Dickens once drank here, and his novel Oliver Twist was set partly around nearby St Saviour’s Dock, located directly opposite the apartment. Scenes from the novel’s 1948 film adaptation were also filmed in this area.
The history of London Bridge and its surrounding neighbourhoods is rich and endlessly fascinating, with plenty for you to discover during your stay.

This property is a self-check-in property, and you will be requested to verify your identity before being able to check into the flat. You can check in any time of the day as long as you respect our standard check-in time (3 PM).
There is a zero-tolerance policy for smoking on the property. If our team discovers evidence that this rule has been breached (e.g., smoke smell, ashes, butts, etc.), we fully reserve the right to charge a minimum of £300 for the smoking fee.
We do not allow parties, large gatherings, loud noises, or outside guests. Should we receive sufficient evidence of such activity, we reserve the right to cancel your stay (without a refund) and may involve a security team to evict you. Any associated cost will be charged to you via your security deposit. Local authorities may also be present (if required).
