Unfortunately, despite its excellent location, our stay was very disappointing. On arrival on Thursday, we did not realise until bedtime that there was no heating or hot water. We reported this to the host immediately, but it took almost 24 hours for the boiler to be repaired. Communication throughout this time was very poor. Despite sending several messages asking for updates, we received no response, leaving us uncertain about when the problem would be resolved. By 7 p.m. on Friday, we still had no update and had to beg VRBO to book us a hotel. We really wanted to shower. Although the boiler was apparently repaired that evening, nobody informed us. Neither the host, the plumber nor Vrbo confirmed that the problem had been resolved. We returned to the apartment ourselves on Saturday morning to check the boiler before checking out of the hotel and moving our luggage back. This caused unnecessary stress, expense and disruption. The apartment is in an older building and needs updating. The bathroom was disappointing in terms of hygiene and is outdated. The layout of the building is also worth noting: the communal staircase runs directly through the bedroom area. When the upstairs guests arrived with their suitcases at 1:30 a.m., it felt as though they were entering our bedroom. On a positive note, the location is excellent: a quiet street with convenient access to public transport and lovely restaurants nearby, and a supermarket around the corner.
