"We have family in the area and are so happy to have found Esther Cabin to stay at.It was clean, sufficiently stocked, bed comfortable and the location is perfect. Booking was easy. Check in and out was easy and stress free. Communication streamlined and responsive. Property is well maintained and cared for. It snowed while there and early morning there was someone there to clean up the lot and walkways.Lake Placid is 15 min away with good day drinking spots, shopping, restaurants, family activities and Olympic history. Skied whiteface which is 3 min down the road, hiking, snowshoeing and exploring abounds. I can’t wait to return during seasons other than winter to kayak and hike. In warmer weather the covered porch and fire pit would be well used and enjoyed. We will return and have found our home base away from home. TY for sharing your home with us. "

"The bathroom was very dirty, and we were not comfortable even using the shower. In addition, the front door does not lock at all, and we had to check in late due to the chalet not being ready. On the plus side, the beds were very comfy and the fireplace was a wonderful bonus. The chalet had a nice selection for tv channels. It needs some definite updating, but overall hosts did try to accommodate by offering us a free night- would recommend after renovations only. "

"I booked the Spruce Room, which has extremely dated pictures online. There have been years of use when you actually view the place. The kitchen has stains and marked up tiles, bathroom is barely clean with black mold in the back of toilet. All 4 of our beds had dirty linens and since there is no on-site manager, they had us raid the emergency shed and hopefully retrieve extra sheets. These sheets were all unusable. They reeked of mildew. Our family had nowhere to sleep that night, so we had to emergency book a hotel 30 minutes away. Beware of the accuracy of the pictures!!!!!!!"
