I chose this property due to location, but especially due to the reference to "...open-air parking (15 places) in the adjoining building..." in the property description. When I booked the apartment I specifically sent a message to the property manager explaining that I will want access to the available parking. When we arrived, we met a representative from the property management office (Ericeira Real Estate) at a nearby gas station and followed her to a parking lot next to a church where she instructed us to park. We then walked 3 to 4 blocks to the apartment only to find out that there was no parking. We asked about the discrepancy and ultimately decided to check in to a hotel (with a parking lot) after we were told our option was to switch to a larger and more expensive apartment outside the city center that still did not have dedicated parking.
I called customer service and opened a case. They offered to refund a small percentage of the deposit I had paid with credit card at the time of booking through VRBO. When I returned to the Ericeira Real Estate office to find out what they were willing to do to refund the rest of my money I was told by the property manager in a rather smug way that what I read in the property description was a translation issue and they were not responsible. Apparently, however the translation was done, she explained, "open-air parking (15 places) in the adjoining building", came from them originally saying in Portuguese something to the equivalent of "nearby public parking". She told me that VRBO agreed with them and closed the case and she refused to refund the money.
So if honesty and accuracy are important to you, then don't rent from Ericeira Real Estate.
