Wonderful and quiet! Such a cozy home and very friendly hosts. They have a dog, Ginger, who is very sweet. The first snowfall of the season started as we woke up and it was beautiful.

This is an idyllic location for a quiet retreat in the heart of beautiful Canadian Shield country. The hosts are very friendly. Best value in a bnb ever! Breakfast was delicious French Toast With perfect texture homemade bread.

We had a great time with Al & Annette food was great. They were great in guiding us where to go and how to get there. Great suggestion on places for dinner. We also had a great time playing games with them. We will be back again.

The place was hidden in the woods and so nice and comfortable. The host was amazing and made us feel home preparing the breakfast and talk with us about everything. I really enjoyed the place and the host. I would recommend this place to everyone!

This is a gem B&B hosted in an historic house. You are sharing the house with authentic Canadian hosts though you will have your own room and services. They will welcome you and prepare exquisite breakfasts and make you feel part of their family. Quintessential Canadian hospitality all year.

We stayed one night in the loon room downstairs, and our bathroom was upstairs. Both were very clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable! The property and house were beautiful, but the most memorable part of our stay was meeting Annette, Al and their dog Ginger. Super kind and hospitable, would love to return for a longer stay in the future!

Hidden Gem!!

The place was excellent. The hosts welcomed us very warmly and made us feel right at home. Very clean room and super comfortable kind size bed were really great. Definitely will go back there next time

It was absolutely one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had. I had only spent one night there but I felt I had a week away from the hustle of life . A great place to recharge snd reset! You get a wonderful breakfast and the two that host makes you feel like you are truly at home! :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were wonderful, caring and welcoming. The home was beautiful as was the surrounding property. Gorgeous pond, flowers, and all sorts of beautiful plants. We would've stayed longer had there been an opening, but we would no doubt come back again on our next trip to Canada. Our room was amazingly clean, the bed was super comfortable, and so warm and inviting. Our hosts recommended a couple places to visit (a wonderful restaurant and a large art/gift shop nearby) and we followed up on their suggestions and both were exceptional! I must add that we had beautiful fall weather during our stay here which made our stay even more exceptional. We highly recommend The Gathering Place on Golden Ponds.

Great Stay

Al, Annette and Ginger were excellent hosts, very friendly and welcoming. The Loon room was very spacious and super comfortable. Would highly recommend the Gathering Place to anyone looking for a nice B&B in a quiet setting.

Rooms were beautifully decorated and spotless, the bed the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Beautiful and quiet location. The owners are artists and their work in on display. This is the nicest place we have stayed on our trip - too bad we were on our way home and couldn't stay longer.

We were welcomed by Al and Annette and their sweet girl Ginger who right away made us feel very comfortable. Our room was spacious, and very clean, the bed was extremely comfy and we enjoyed a very good restful sleep. Breakfast was delicious. We were looking at properties in the area and needed a place to stay overnight. Annette and Al were wonderful hosts and gave us the skinny on places to eat and nearby attractions. Not to mention that their property was gorgeous and a real treat to wake up in and go for a meander around the pond with a coffee.

Lovely historic cottage

A lovely cozy cabin type house nessled in the woods! The house is full of history and a must see for any nature loving enthusiast. The owners were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable in their home. We ate dinner in Bancroft at the local pub! If going up in the area again, it will be on our list of places to stay again!
