The old charm was wonderful, really enjoyed the room as it was spacious. The restaurant wasn’t great, staff weren’t very friendly and food was average. Otherwise we loved it

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Sadly Disappointed.
A little dissatisfied. There are fire places in the rooms as well as all public spaces but because it wasn’t yet the 1st of May (even though we were there over the Easter long weekend), we were not allowed to light them. (It was cold). No music / fires / atmosphere in the public spaces makes it cold & uneventful to go there. No walking trails on the property, so if you want to walk you need to drive to another. Your breakfast is complimentary but you must pay to have a cappacino (only filter coffee included- which as a coffee lover - honestly wasn’t very nice coffee at all). The steam room at the spa wasn’t working when we went for our treatments.
The staff however are really lovely and doing their best to make it welcoming.
If you’re happy to sit in your room all weekend then it is perfect, but for a more active couple, unfortunately it’s not the right fit.
Outstanding location, comfortable, spacious, clean and well appointed rooms. Serene setting with easy access to local attractions.

Not Great .........................
I was so looking forward to this stay . The place needs a good scrub in the walkways and the bathroom especially the grouting and the shower . There were stains on the seats in the dining area. It was particularly chilly and when I asked if they could light a fire - I was told they are not using them. I would not recommend this spot at all.
Amazing weekend retreat. Spacious, clean and quiet room. Breakfast and dinner service at the Bistro has room for improvement but the food is good and of high quality. Waitresses require more training. Resort is well situated, near points of interest.
Rustic property in good location. Quiet and tranquil. Good pool and good breakfast. Clean room and bathroom. The access road was in a bad state of repair with potholes and deep ruts and needed careful negotiation. Very friendly and efficient security staff at the gate.
Great stay. Both of us got sick on the Thursday. Called reception for Valois. Message received was hotel not allowed to stock tablet. A bit more interest or offer of help would have been better.
Our favourite hotel in the midlands just got even better with a recent refurb.
Food is fantastic, room super comfortable and the staff go out of their way to make sure you are very well looked after. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.
Room was comfortable and as per the pictures presented the food in the ala Cart dining room was amazing and no faults to Express.
Was only there overnight stay
Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, Außenanlage wie Pool und Sträucher sind sehr gepflegt und last but least die Zimmer sind sehr schön und groß.
