Asylum Seeker Hotel

This hotel is currently being used to house asylum seekers. The crèche at breakfast was not a pleasant experience with children running around out of control. The hotel is tired and the rooms very basic. Not worth the money.

Had we been told that there would be immigrants in the hotel we would have stayed somewhere else. We were made to feel we didn’t belong there that we were somehow intruding. I will never stay in another Holiday Inn.

Never again!

Full of women sat in their pj’s at breakfast swearing and spluttering. These are ladies that are homeless with their children and I feel for them but to be sat in the restaurant at breakfast in pj’s and loud and swearing and the lady who was the staff not polite either! Also immigrate staying here, nothing against them as they were more polite and quieter than the English homeless women and their children. I will never stay in a holiday inn again as breakfast was vile. The women and children using their hands in the shared cereals and swearing so loud! I was staying on a business trip and this was not what I was expecting at all!

This hotel is used to accommodate assylum seekers as well as homeless people. It has got a contract with the governement. The hotel has one corridor that they use for paying guests, and the rest of the hotel is on a government contract. This is not mentionned when booking the hotel. The receptionist was ever so helpeful.

Staff doing wonders under bad conditions

The staff were excellent, very helpful and attentive. Unfortunately the hotel is being used as an overflow for council houses, up until 11:15, until I complained to the management, kids and parents were making lots of noise and slamming doors all over the hotel. Mean I couldn’t get to sleep until after midnight by the time the commotion has subsided.

Despite telling the hotel 2 weeks before arrival that we would be bringing our dog, we were given a room on the upper floor a long way from the stairs. Ate at the Toby Carvery next door. Big mistake, only the carvery was on offer and all the food was only lukewarm.
