The property is exactly as described, and very well kept. Very clean and pleasant. Location is perfect, easy walking distance of restaurants and sites. Parking was easy to find and close.
Only improvements I would recommend are including bedding, towels and few toiletries to the home.
My girls and I loved the cottage and the area. We had a great time at the beach, going for walks, enjoying live music, eating at restaurants and mini golf. The cottage was a great place to relax. Thanks!
We really liked staying at this charming house. Plenty of room for the five of us and the doggie decor was warm and friendly. Getting to the front porch of the house (via GPS) was a bit of a challenge since Google Maps didn't know that there were footpaths leading to it but once we found it all was perfect!
We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was cute and we were so happy to be able to bring our dog! The parking situation was not bad at all! It’s a very short walk and the area has so much charm! It’s very peaceful. I gave 4 stars for cleanliness because the dish towel in the kitchen was dirty with sauce or something & lots of cobwebs on the porch. But overall we loved it.
We had a short stay to extend our week from another rental. It suited our purpose of having a place to put our heads at night. Cottage is well lived in with some repairs needed. Very animal friendly which was a bonus for us traveling with a dog. Most supplies available (no toaster). Shower only. Parking is located at nearby church and house is short walk down a path connected to lot. This is where we unloaded and carried our stuff to and from. In the summer there is more activities available and very close distance to tabernacle which holds concerts. Front porch with swing n seating we enjoyed. Trash is disposed nearby/short ride at end of street. Only 30 minutes to Hershey!
We loved the location and the cottage was lovely and comfortable. My 17 year old “loves the aesthetic.” Our 15 and 9 year old enjoyed time with me on the porch. My husband was happy there was a mini split in each bedroom and in the lower level. I am already looking to book again to see it in another season. We had our pup with us and she enjoyed walking the neighborhood with us. Others voice concerns about having to walk from the parking lot to the site and the walk is super short. There is a cart on the porch you can use to haul groceries from the lot to the cottage.
The house is in a great location. Super quiet and friendly area. The house itself was very clean however there was a mixup and the beds had dirty sheets and the trash cans were all full. I received an immediate answer from the host concerning the situation. I believe it may be newly listed so things happen. I was happy to figure what what was going on and I am sure it will not happen again.
Parking was very close to the house, there was no problem getting our bags and supplies to the house.
The Good: This 3 bed 1 bath cottage is in a great location within Mt Gretna Campmeeting. It is within walking distance to all the local attractions within Campmeeting, Chautauqua, Porch and Pantry, Mt Gretna Hideaway and the lake & beach area.
There were several concerts at the Tabernacle that we were able to enjoy right from the front porch. The cottage is located on a non driving street, making it very enjoyable and quiet, however there is parking within a short walking distance to the cottage.
The not so Good: the porches could have been a bit cleaner. Providing a broom for guests to sweep the porches of debris that naturally occurs would have been great. Having said all that, I would recommend this cottage to others and I would stay here again. Thanks for letting us have a quick Mt Gretna getaway. We stayed over July 4th 2024.
This little cottage is located in a very cute little WALKING community. There is no parking at the property. The listing says "Free parking a short walk away." I guess this depends on what you define as a "short walk." There are several options for parking and the closest two lots were full when I got there, so it's very inconvenient to load/unload and very confusing to figure out in the dark when I arrived with the instructions given. I tried to temporarily park in the neighbor's driveway for 5 minutes to unload and a tow truck started circling. You can't stop in the street or you block everything.
The house is cute, was clean, and comfortable enough. However... None of the upstairs doors fully closed to varied degrees, including the bathroom. We had to push furniture in front of the bedroom doors at night to keep the dogs from roaming the house.
We did love that it was dog friendly!
The ceilings in the bedrooms are very low. One person in our party is just over 6 feet tall and he felt like his head barely cleared the ceiling fan, and was it difficult to avoid hitting it when putting on shirts.
Lastly, the remote to control the streaming services doesn't work. We changed the batteries and it didn't help.
So, all the good things the listing says are pretty much true, but here's the other side of the coin.
We wouldn't stay here again. It's too pricy for the issues we had to deal with. The nightly rates are reasonable but the added fees doubled the price.
Enjoyed the house and we love Mount Gretna. Wish there had been parking by the house. Had to walk in the rain to load the car for the trip home. Also, ran out of shampoo and body wash. Luckily, we had some with us. Still, the place was charmingly comfy and we had an enjoyable stay.
We needed a place that would accommodate grandmother, mother, adult son, and two small dogs. A Slice of Heaven fit the bill perfectly. Easy access to Harrisburg International Airport as well as the wedding location in Annville, PA. Enjoyed exploring the neighborhood, local eateries, and the concert we could here from the house after the wedding on Sunday.
My daughter had a lacrosse tournament in the area and this lovely cottage was a great surprise. Close to Hershey Park and in the most enchanting community! It was almost as if we went back in time when we stayed! Perfect option if you do not want to stay in hotels! Wish we could have stayed longer to see all that the area had to offer!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Overall the house was clean and well appointed. Having min-splits in each room was nice, everyone could set there on temperature for sleeping. Both porch rails were un-useable as they were both about to fall off. My biggest issue was parking, there is none on the property itself and the few lots that are avaiable fill up quickly. The house is a cottage in the middle of a villiage and if you have a lot of things to bring in and out you will have a bit of a walk to get there.
The village is cute and you can get a car close enough to load and unload without too much walking, but the fire department uses air raid sirens to call the volunteers.... Uhg
A wonderful experience!“Slice of heaven” was a fantastic stay. It’s hard to describe how interesting and cool the little “camp village” ( for lack of a better word) was.It felt like something out of a story book. So peaceful and quiet with so many interesting little nooks and crannies to see while roaming around with a cup of coffee in the morning. I really loved it.Ashely, the host, was super responsive and helpful, both, before and after our stay. She was immediate with answers to any questions we had.For example Our family friend left her medication, that she needs, behind in the fridge. We realized when we got home, four hours later, contacted Ashley, and within minutes she solved the problem and had it shipped back to us.Don’t pass this place up if you are wanting to have a little piece and quite and feel like your in some wild secret little woodland nook of the world. It’s about a 25 minute drive to Hershey park. For our family it was a nice end to each day after navigating crowds and all the intensity of an amusement park.Thank you Ashley for a wonderful time!
