We had such a great time at the River Road Lodge! The house is clean and huge for our large group. We definitely will be coming back and staying longer to enjoy the house and its amenities!
Lots to do for family fun. Hot tub, pool. table games. and our favorite karaoke. Lots of room to be together. but room for privacy.
Best of all, everyone had their own bathroom!
We hope to come again.
This is our second year coming to the Lodge and we LOVE it! We bring our children every year for my birthday and love that we can all fit into one home that has so much space for us all to spread out. we enjoy playig games in the game area, cooking in the massive kitchen and having king size beds for everyone. It is the best place we have stayed so far for out family's needs. We are already talking about going back this summer to enjoy the pool and BBQ'ing. Great place and great location!
This place is seriously huge. Generous 6 master bedrooms all with en-suite bath, well stocked kitchen, fire pit. It’s a giant space and we had a great time.
After losing out at our favored lodge we were looking for a place for 10. Very pleased with kitchen especially. Everything was very well stocked with appliances, dishes, and cleaning supplies. Beds were super comfy and bedroom fireplace was a real luxury.
Great lodge amenities, little spotty communications
Great lodge space and perfect setup for small group get togethers. The prep and checkin instructions were helpful and most everything in good running order (beside issues with house speakers).
We did have a few problems with communications but when we really needed help for a tripped breaker the host did respond with support quickly.
I often travel with a group of families and typically we are crammed into most places we rent. Not this house! This house was built for larger groups. Every bedroom was spacious and all of the communal areas were well designed to host multiple families. I can’t wait to go back.
This was really an excellent holiday for our group of 10 adults at a family reunion. Room for everyone to be together, or apart as we pleased! Two enormous living rooms - we really only used the second one when we watched a movie on the big screen. Two dining tables. We were in the middle of a crazy heat wave, but with the A/C, the pool, river access a 10 minute walk and the lake only 15 minutes away by car, we were all set. We used that pool every day - it's large enough to really swim in - and even used the hot tub in the evenings when it cooled off a bit. The beds were super comfortable, and the bedrooms each had their own ensuite - some with soaker tubs! The kitchen was huge - a commercial kitchen, so quite well equipped (I would have had to stay another week to memorize where everything was!). The wild turkey flocks, the deer, and the black bear that visited us (only saw him once, thankfully!) made the stay special. Communication with the owners was a bit hit and miss before the stay but when we were there they were available right away (we needed access to the breaker box at one point on an especially hot day and they helped immediately). The location is great - about 30 min drive to Leavenworth, only 15 minute drive to the beautiful state park where there is swimming, boating, a beach, and hiking trails.
This property is amazing. So much space for family and friends to spread out and not bump into each other. Many TV options and outdoor activities (pool and jacuzzi were awesome). The Kitchen was amazing - plenty of cooking options (6 burner gas stovetop and 4 ovens) and the large spacious fridge was great. The only negative was that Cell Service wasn't great (at least for AT&T folks) and the internet worked well for streaming - but depending on where you were on site - there were a few spots where it wasn't robust as it could have been - but over all - it was great to stream netflix and other streaming options. all-in-all - this was one of the best VRBO's we've rented and would definitely rent this property again. Thanks!
We rented the lodge with three other families - 8 adults + 8 kids (all under age 6) - it was perfect for our group! The lodge is huge and we had a great time.
Stayed with a group of friends for a wedding in Plain. House was very private and had lots of spaces to hang out. Huge kitchen, big hangout area, large hot tub that was covered and right next to the main hangout (away from all the bedrooms too). Plus, everybody had their own room and own bathroom, which was so nice!

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
Amazing Venue for Large Gatherings
My review would easily have been 5 stars if it wasn't for communication with the property manager. I sent multiple messages through VRBO as well as leaving a half dozen voicemails from early November - late December. Zero response except for the outsourced the after-hours line, who said they'd pass on a message. Never got a response from that either.
That said, this property otherwise really exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, the furniture and beds were modern and comfortable, we had everything we need, and the check in instructions made it easy to get inside. Since it isn't entirely clear from the listing, here's some notes:
Arrival - The addresses are a little strange on this road, so go 2 driveways past where Apple Maps tells you to go. You’ll see a sign with the street number on it. The cabin is visible from the road on the left. There’s room for 5-6 cars to park in the driveway.
Bedrooms - There are 4 king bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (shower, toilet) and jacuzzi tubs upstairs. Downstairs there are 2 king bedrooms with full bath/showers, and 1 small twin room that has a handicap accessible shower attached. The entrance to the smaller room is in the foyer, so not very quiet. There was also 2 air mattresses and additional bedding in the downstairs closet.
Living Room/Gathering areas - there are two huge (HUGE) living room type areas. One has a theater projector/screen set up, the other has a fireplace. There are 3-5 couches in each and seating for probably 15-20 people in each. In the larger projector room there are also a couple of eating tables and chairs set up.
Dining Room - Really big nice table, could easily seat 20 ppl.
Kitchen - Industrial kitchen, with a large 2-oven, 8-burner professional stove including flattop and grill. Two additional residential ovens. Enough cookware, serving ware, cups, wine glasses, champagne flutes, plates for 20+ ppl. One large professional kitchen double-door fridge, one full-size standing freezer. There is a second fridge/freezer in the “bar” room, with an ice machine. Lots of serving ware, including an ice chest/bar. 2 weber grills outside with propane
Hottub - Yes
Property - There is a fire pit, chapel, and swimming pool onsite. We did not use any of these because it was winter. Everything looked well maintained. There was also 4 sets of snowshoes onsite.
Surrounding Area - This is down a long road that follows the Willamette River, with mostly other cabins and fields. The
We had the best time at this property. The kitchen was well supplied and enormous. The dimensions of the space were epic from the large living room, spacious dining room and fantastic group space near the pool and hot tub. Would highly recommend this for family gatherings and to share with your friends!
