## Emplacement
A distinct identity, a renowned seaside resort... Le Barcarès has it all. Surrounded by a pond and the sea, this strip of land was neglected until the 17th century. A few decades later, Le Barcarès boasted a major fishing port and even shipyards where the famous Catalan barque was built. In the 1960s, property developers took over the coastline and turned Barcarès into a renowned seaside resort, with the Lydia as its symbol, washed up on its beaches. This liner, now converted into a museum, discotheque and restaurant, is the fourth oldest liner in the world. Each district has its own character, and you'll love immersing yourself in the atmosphere of each one.
