I am dreaming of the next time we can return to Wengen and Chalet Belle Vista. We have spoken with friends about our stay and possibility of coming back and sharing the space with another couple. The views are breath taking from the balcony: Lauterbrunnen lower in the valley and what feels like endless mountain peaks all around. I never tired of sitting there and taking it all in. The space was comfortable and well laid out. The two bedrooms each with two twins that can be set up as twins or pushed together are on either side of the bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. Easy access to the two bathrooms, and the other part of the space has a full kitchen with bar seating, dining table for 10, living room, and the gorgeous balcony. Very comfortable seating and open plan for all the common area. The space was well kept, clean, and inviting. Because this is a mountain village, there is an uphill walk from Belle vista to the COOP grocery store and train station, but not more than a five minute walk. Most of the other homes, hotels, and inns on this side of Wengen are further downhill past Belle Vista. The lack of cars in Wengen and being one train ride away from the main tourist area of Lauterbrunnen was perfect for us. Wengen has everything you could need (grocery store, multiple restaurants, shops and outdoor gear, etc). The Baren restaurant was our favorite, but Mira’s steakhouse and Maya Caprice were excellent too!
