"Enjoyed our stay despite 2 days of heavy rain which forced us to batten down the hatches and chill. The area looks nice and places are easy to get to thanks to excellent roads. Cabin was warm and inviting. Telly was good with freeview plus. Biggest drawback was the rather dozy living room light. We had to commandeer a bedside lamp from the second bedroom and even then it was dull. OK to watch tv but rubbish for reading or doing puzzles. Amenities fine with adequate kitchen and toilet facilities. Welcome pack was a packet of mint Matchmakers. Not the best I'm afraid. Tea bags and milk would be a better idea? Would recommend the cabin and nearby is Rutland Water which is fabulous for dogs who are allowed to go in the restaurant at Normanton. Also Stamford , about 20 minutes drive , is a beautiful town reminiscent of Beverley or Ripon. So enjoy !"

"Nicely put together house. Handy for Oakham town centre, shops, pubs etc. 20 mins to Burghley House. Comfy beds. However, please do provide guests with a bit more info about what’s what in the house…A long mirror in the double room and a loo brush in the bathroom would be useful additions"

"The cottage was spotless on arrival, everything we needed was there fiona met us on arrival & explained everything to us & answered any questions that we had. Would definitely recommend staying in this cottage, we will definitely be back as we loved the quietness staying here"
