"We travel a lot, particularly to cities for live sport and chose this hotel mainly due to location and the high review ratings. Unfortunately our experience was not great. The main issue with this hotel is the ever present sewage / drainage smell. We noticed it in numerous locations; the main bar / breakfast room, in corridors, lifts and also our room. When we reported it we were told it was an ongoing issue with Bordeaux which we had not noticed on our trips out or when exploring the city. We mentioned it again at check-out and were given the same reason. My personal view is that the internal drainage system / pipework within the building is probably not well maintained or cleaned! We were offered another room but we chose to stick with the room we had as we only had 2 nights left and as mentioned above we did not think the issue was specifically related to the room. The breakfast was expensive for a buffet considering no option to order freshly cooked food. You could however order fried or boiled eggs if required. Positives were the room size (we had a corner room with king size bed). Location. Great for tram to travel from the airport and around Bordeaux and we also liked the access to the kitchenette where there are cold drinks and biscuits available for free."

"Great location if you want to be close to the train. A bit of a yucky walk with not much else around. Was excited for a roof top bar/restaurant, they only serve 3 course meals, no options for bar snacks or lighter meals which was disappointing. Rooms are beautiful, just very noisy! Especially my third night when I had to change rooms as it was an additional booking, was under the kitchen and they banged around until after 11 and were back at 530, so impossible to sleep. Absolutely do not use the laundromat near the train station, very scary and unsafe. "

"Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel. Pros: Great location near shopping/old town. Hotel staff very attentive. Rooms clean and well maintained. Cons: Repairs/scaffolding underway create noise and visual impairment out windows. Pigeons (birds) are in the walls/ceilings of several rooms... they have penetrated through the roof or air vents (noise). Bathroom shower stall very small and shower floor dangerously slippery. Neutral: Breakfast buffet good at fair price, but scrambled eggs are really a mix of eggs and milk (horrible taste)."

"Great quick check in!room spacious!and clean!Great shower!instant hot water!only thing is no door on shower!design fault i never understand!step out of shower and floor wet??breakfast good also!though if everyone turns up at same time!queues form!not gd otherwise no problem booking again!only really 5mim walk from st jean station!through hall 3!!!and passs carrefour supermarket!and bus stop for alsa etc!"
