I have vacationed for weeks at a time from the mountains to the shores and have never found a house that had a kitchen better stocked than this one. From dishwashing and laundry detergent to sharp knives and even spices, this house was quite accommodating. There were also games and puzzles galore for rainy days along with the pool table and dart board. Our family had a great time also playing horseshoes. The upper deck porch with its rockers gave us a wonderful place to gather for coffee every morning. However, the trek to the river is so steep that although the weather was superb for our two weeks, our whole family only gathered there twice - once to go tubing (which was a bit treacherous) and once just to sit by the river. It is the reason I gave accuracy of online listing only a 3 out of 5. Only one of us went down regularly to fish. He seemed to have a blast, catching six or more - three of which were big enough to cook. But he was the most agile of us. One of us fell the first time she tried to get in and that was it for her. It seemed to us that the poor access to the river was just plain inexcusable. A modicum of digging and work could easily remedy that situation. Four of us tubed down to the bridge - about 2 miles away. However the banks had trees that had fallen almost all the way across. This made tubing more work than fun. The communication by Four Seasons, once we arrived, was also poor. A crew of men showed up to service the hot tub unannounced. They didn't knock or anything. They just came to the tub while one of us was in it in his underwear! Indeed, it appeared that they were hoping to catch someone indisposed as they reported to us later that they had done just that. It was the same with the mower - he just showed up unannounced, and didn't let us know he was there. We ran outside to get some of our shoes off the lawn and a good thing we did. He ran over one of the yard lights spewing glass everywhere. the reason? He was looking at his phone while he zipped around the yard on his riding mower. Lastly, the owners have no place safe from animals to put trash cans. We found the cans in the laundry room. Our choice of storing them was either leave them there to stink the place up for two weeks or put them on the upper deck where animals could not get to them. We chose the deck. But by the second week, our favorite place to gather now stunk. I love the area but would not choose to stay here again.
