Super comfortable with full kitchen, washer and dryer, fireplace, and access to the amazing Apple Valley Golf course. A wonderful stay and amazing golf at Apple Valley Golf course, and visiting Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Perfect place to stay.

Overall it’s just ok. Instructions are a bit iffy. Like taking the trash out gave special instruction but I checked out on Sunday and it said not to put the trash inside the container until the morning it is picked up which is Monday??? Says to bring it to an offsite place if not on a pick up day but it’s closed on Sunday??? Like I said it was OK the place was clean just really dated and there was a lot of outside noise that can be heard. The price was good so I would stay again. I will say the people at check in and out were just ok as well. They were not mean or rude but they were also not very happy or smiling. Also bringing the keys back there at checkout is very annoying. Should be able to leave them in the room

It was a nice location, on a golf course. Had all that you could need! Close to chimney rock area where you could shop, eat, get produce at one of the local priduce stands or play mini golf! Also loved going to Chimney rock!

The property is so nice. It is dated, but comfortable, clean, and well stocked with towels and kitchen items. They even had a couple of small boxes of laundry detergent which was nice. There is a deck that overlooks the golf course to enjoy over morning coffee. The amenities were lovely - putt-putt golf, swimming, and playgrounds for the kids. We loved it! The entire staff was helpful and friendly.

Wonderful Getaway

Lake Lure was the perfect place for a getaway. We loved the golf courses, vineyards and views, the lake and boating, the trails for riding bikes, and of course the hike up Chimney Rock. The condo at Fairway of the Mountains provide wonderful views of the Apple Valley Golf Course. Staying at the Wyndham resort provides you with access to all the facilities at a discount. For golfers, Monday and Tuesdays allow you to golf at the most reasonable rates. Excellent stay and excellent accommendations.

A decent place to stay

We loved the place. It was very clean. The pricing was good. No it is not a fancy place. It does have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only real downfall is the uncomfortable pull out couch. It could definitely use better padding, but my grandsons were so happy to be able to sleep up stairs.

The property is a timeshare. I think you need to know that before u rent a very dated poor condition dirty holes in the doors, dirty walls very disappointed. rusty, refrigerator, mold, stoves, dirty, and broken. They actually did move us from one unit to the next because of the severely musty smell in the bedroom area, but that wasn’t even worse condition but by the time we were in there, the front office was closed and gone.We have stayed at some of these other properties before and they were excellent …actually after we saw the condition of the property we wanted to leave, but we were kind of stuck there because it was after hours.

Condo was great, had lots of room and a pretty view. The only issue we had was not enough passes for Rumbling Bald amenities, the villa we were in only gave 4 while the others get 8. However, turned out to not be too much of an issue and we had an amazing, relaxing birthday weekend!

This property was great for what we needed. The grounds, pool, parking, front desk all were great. The unit itself could use some upgrades. Also the unit was very damp. Could use a dehumidifier. Wanted to note that the unit was very clean and lots of amenities for a short stay.

Wild turkey on golf course was great. Blower on green early on checkout morning was an early wakeup. Checkout wasn't til 10. But got an early start home.

Poor service at Legend’s Restaurant

We did not use the pool therefore did not rate it. We did use the restaurant on property, Legends, and would have rated the service as poor to average during our recent stay. We attempted to call in a carry out order and no one picked up the phone. Then we drove to the restaurant to place the order to learn management likely didn’t staff effectively to handle 2 events and regular restaurant crowd. When we asked the hostess about answering the phone, the response was “ I don’t know, I don’t answer the phone. “

Our unit was a 'basement' unit - enter on the parking level, main rooms downstairs. Dated, but very clean, bed and bedding were very good. The smell - wet dog? Mold? Soggy crawl space? - was too much for us. For that reason, not a first choice for us in this area for future visits. Also, the office was closed on the day when we needed to adjust our dates (on a Wednesday - office was noted to be open 5 days a week) so we were left with no options when we tried to makes changes within our cancellation/change period. We noted this to the office staff when we checked in, but they only confirmed that they were in fact usually closed on Wednesdays, so we paid for one extra smelly day.

Not great

Fairways of the mountains is a very outdated place. I wasn’t expecting much but I wish it was a little bit nicer. The price is the best part about it. The worst part of the trip was when the power went out the first night we were there. It’s August. I wasn’t expecting any reason for the power to go out. So we were left in the dark with no A/C. Another problem was that hardly anything was ever open. Had to search for food or drinks. The amenities are nice but you have to travel to the actual resort to get to them because this place isn’t actually on the resort. We were only staying two nights so we survived. There’s no way we would have stayed a week at this place.
