"For a older property it looks good inside and out. The hallway lights could be brighter though. The plants outside needed attention (weeded, watered, trimmed). The only real complaint is it needs a sign where you are to enter the driveway."

"This retreat was fabulous. It was clean, beautiful furnishings, tastefully decorated, and a great kitchen with terrific appliances. The hosts were gracious and kind.The first morning I awoke, birds gently cooing to me from the window ledge urging me to get up and get some coffee. As I was preparing my first cup a deer came to window beckoning me to the back yard. I settled into a comfortable chair with my tasty brew and I was startled to bear witness to the Yooper Wildlife Ensemble! This is simply incredible, I thought to myself. But it got even better. A moose was there with his bass, a couple of deer joined in on cello, raccoons showed up with their fiddles, a bear arrived with his cymbals, a rabbit was thumping on the drums. Yet, there was more! Squirrels, chipmunks, possums, and more rabbits joining in a morning dance recital. The music began and the tune was a classic, The Yooper Morning Waltz. As I tapped my foot in time with the music, birds of many feather began singing, the wildlife played, and sang, and danced with animated joy. Soon, the music faded away and my morning guests melted into the forest.Then, I woke from my dream. This seemed so real, I thought. Wait, this is the U.P., where dreams come true!"
Cozy, Quiet, Getaway for Single or Couple

"The Caboose is compact but very comfortable, super clean and stocked with everything you will need! Gina and Paul are generous hosts with warm personalities and great suggestions. We arrived when outside temperature was 96 degrees!! Very hot in the Caboose sleeping quarters. Gina found us a fan to blow air conditioner air into the bedroom which solved the heat problem. The beach at both Lake Independence and Lake Superior were superior! The area is beautiful, the morning deer a welcome sight. Smoke from the Canada fires covered the area which hid the forests and lakes. Very relaxing both in the Caboose and surrounding forests! Thank you."
The Perfect Place to "GETAWAY'

"What a lovely place! There is a view of the lake from every window, and you can sit outside to have breakfast or play a game and feel the breeze and listen to the water. The hosts are very sweet and offered a kayak if we wanted, and it's clearly nice for swimming. Lots of AC for hot weather, nice comfy beds, very clean, plenty of space. The fridge is so clean it looks like it's never been used! :) Plenty of dishes and towels and anything you need. There is only a few buildings in the town, but the Lumberjack Inn has good prices and friendly people and the ice cream place is fabulous! So you can go into Marquette or you can just stay local and either way, you will have a wonderful trip!"
