Brand new and freshly furnished throughout, this tranquil hillside home sits on over half a hectare between Queenstown and Arrowtown, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large deck made for slow mornings.
The Space:
Cedar cladding and a dark standing-seam roof step down the hillside, framed by open grassland and distant peaks. Inside, modern finishes and walnut joinery run throughout the open-plan living, kitchen and dining area, wrapped in glass so the mountains are never out of view, whatever the season.
Sink into the deep sofa and put your feet up in front of the TV, or pull a stool up to the kitchen island. The kitchen comes complete with a full-size fridge freezer, dishwasher, induction cooktop and Nespresso machine, so self-catering never feels like a compromise.
Two bedrooms open onto the cedar-lined deck through full-height sliding doors, each dressed in crisp white linen, throws and plush cushions. The primary bedroom is made up as a queen, while the second flexes between a superking and two king singles, so it suits a couple or two friends sharing just as well. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom, finished with vessel basins, brushed gold tapware, heated towel rails and walk-in showers.
Tucked above the second bedroom, a loft lounge with velvet sofa gives you a quiet corner for reading or an evening drink, away from the main living space.
Step outside and the large deck runs the length of the house, a private perch for morning coffee with The Remarkables and Coronet Peak mountain ranges laid out in front of you. Set back on its own half-hectare, the section feels secluded and calm, with only birdsong and mountain views for company.
Guest Access:
You'll have the run of the whole home for your stay, from the open-plan living and kitchen to both bedrooms, and the private deck. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with a Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster and cookware ready to go, and fast, reliable Starlink internet covers the whole house for remote work or streaming. Beds are made up with hotel-quality linen, and the bathrooms are stocked with fresh towels and premium New Zealand amenities. Straightforward check-in details are sent ahead of your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Lake Hayes sits in the heart of the Wakatipu Basin, midway between Queenstown and Arrowtown, in a quiet pocket well away from through-traffic. The lake itself is under a 10 minute walk away, with the Lake Hayes Loop track right on the doorstep for an easy stroll or morning run.
For dining, Mora Wines & Artisan Kitchen, for superb brunch and wine tasting, and the internationally renowned Ayrburn are just a 5-minute drive away.
Getting Around:
A car is the easiest way to explore from here. Millbrook Resort’s golf course and spa are a short drive away, Coronet Peak’s ski slopes around 15 minutes, and Queenstown’s restaurants and lakefront about 20 minutes by car, with Arrowtown’s cafes and historic main street closer still. Queenstown Airport is roughly 17 minutes away by car.
