  • Lake George Steamboat Company offers a variety of tours and tour lengths on three different boats. This is the Mohican, their largest. The trip was about 2.5 hours, cost about $23 per person and traveled from the southern point of the lake to about half way north. There is a snack bar but I did not visit it. There is commentary talking about the history of the lake, area and some of the houses. It was a very relaxing and pleasant way to spend the afternoon.

The Rockwell was great. Maureen really took care of us. Breakfast was delicious each morning. The wine bar was also a plus.

We have a wonderful stay at the inn. The breakfast was fantastic. We did not get to experience the wine bar or music as we stayed on an off night, but should we have wished for a beverage the owners were happy to accommodate. We would definitely stay again.

Don't pass up this up.. an amazing place

The stay was great! Gene and Linda are friendly, warm hosts who are concerned about making sure your stay is top notch. When we arrived, HOTELS.COM was having some technical problems and there was an issue with the reservation. Gene and Linda worked with us to make sure it was resolved quickly and then upgraded our room for our troubles, even though the issue was with Hotels.com and not them. The room (Northern) was spacious, comfortable and clean. Biggest and most pleasant surprise was the breakfast! Start with a fresh baked muffin or pastry, fruit and yogurt, Linda's home made granola and associated fixings. There is a daily special, French Toast one morning, followed by Belgian Waffles with strawberries and cream, the next day on this visit. Then there is your choice of eggs.... and this is all included! Don't forget to include a gratuity for your server, because this is not a little buffet in a back room, but a sit down, cooked to order, full breakfast. Service wise, if no one was at the main house, you had a number to call and they were there for you. Location, the Lamplight is a little off the beaten path, which we thought was great. Very quiet, but very close to everything. You can walk to a gourmet restaurant (Up River Cafe), a small supermarket, drug store, and the beach on Lake Luzerne. You are 10-15 minutes from bigger cities and main highways. All in all, it is well worth the value and the stay!

Everything is wonderful about the Lamplight Inn. The rooms, the food, the area, the atmosphere and especially the innkeepers Gene and Linda. The best people you could ever want to meet. We love it at this inn and will continue to go to it each and every year at least twice a year.

We had gotten married there 27 years ago and were back for the first time. The hosts were the same folks who were there when we married- Linda and Gene. They are so friendly and helpful, the room was immaculate and the breakfast food and service were amazing. We’re thinking we might make this an annual visit!

Charming b&b. Linda and Gene are wonderful hosts. I felt totally at home and enjoyed spending a quiet evening reading in the lovely public rooms- full pf character and tastefully decorated. Great breakfast and wonderful location to explore Lake George area. Highly recommended.
