WOT Lagos Montemar Soul Spent 4 days here. Not fancy, but does everything you need. 15 min walk away from Old Town Centre. Easy walk, and far enough away not be kept awake by all the noise. Up hill coming back, but manageable. Staff helpful. 24 hour reception and luggage store for outside of checkin / checkout time. Didn’t try the breakfast. Booked on Expedia but it seemed overpriced. At least on Expedia. There is a really good breakfast place about 5 min walk toward old town that opens early. One strange thing. During the day, no cold water. Never had that before. So it was a but weird putting warm water in my water bottle. Maybe something to do with the weather being really hot. The AC was really quiet and worked well. Nice little balcony also. All in all, a good place to stay

The family room was very clean and spacious do a group of 3. The staff are very kind and the daily housekeeping is great as well. The only con is that with the curtains closed, the room can be dark as there is not a big main light, just smaller lamps on the sides of the bed

The room I paid for had a double bed, not two single twin beds. However, I received the twin beds version. Luckily, the staff was able to assign me another room wth double bed. BUT, it was the less expensive room, which is fine, but a refund for the difference was never offered. not paid. The room itself was still very tight without a small refrigerator for a bottle of water, not even a kettle to heat up water. The shower had only liquid soap, no shampoo or conditioner, as most hotels offer. The room itself was clean, but no real desk, just a small, narrow shelf to be used as a desk with an adjustable bar stool. The curtains had lots of molding spots, and the sliding door to the balcony and the wall around it were filthy with mold and dirt. In addition, the door could not be safely locked, so I had to improvise to ensure it could not be easily opened from the outside. The walls were thin, and you could hear sounds from the hallway or the adjacent or above units. There was also a weird, unclean smell as you entered the hotel, but it was not in the rest of it. The location is good, within walking distance of the old city. Breakfast was nice, with a good variety of breads, pastries, spreads, cereals, and a great Nescafé machine that offered a wide variety of coffees.

The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and overall clean. The bathroom shower was hot and the room opened onto an attractive balcony. The breakfast buffet provided a good assortment of options. Front staff were very friendly and accommodating Perhaps the only odd thing was a rule of no outside alcohol allowed in the room. I have never encountered such a regulation in a hotel

The breakfast was probably the highlight of our stay. The staff were nice and accommodating, but the building is in disrepair with several maintenance needs. One of our friends room has an odor that was nauseating and their TV did not show any picture, but had volume/sound. The amenities shown on Expedia, specifically the pool was not available due to what appeared to be needed repairs.

The room was very basic and tired. I would not equate this to a 3 star hotel. The hotel seemed under staffed but they generally seemed to be doing their best. There was no real terrace to speak of and the balcony was uninviting. We paid extra for a sea view but it was a small strip in between 2 other buildings. The exterior of the hotel was grubby and uncared for. Bit of a disappointment really

this is not a 3star hotel and should not be sold as that.at best a 2 star or hostel.there is no garden or outside sitting area.Ipaid for an upgrade to deluxe sea view.i could only see a thin blue line between two buildings.the building is old and tired.the room was clean and quiet and the staff were helpful.breakfast was o.k. but slow to replenish.
