The Freetown Flat is a new architectural marvel and possibly the coolest Air BNB on the market. Constructed in the heart of Lafayette between the airport, university, and downtown. You are within walking distance of restaurants, shops, art, & live music! The Flat is packed with tons of natural light, stainless steel appliances, and a massive second-floor balcony with tons of lights. It's open design and granite countertops will make you feel right at home in the kitchen, living room & bedrooms.

The unit is a no pet unit, therefore I inquired about if my dogs could stay. After he approved my dogs, he mentioned an additional fee (this is common for pets), offered early check in and sent a bill. After I paid the bill and fees he sent, he then sent another bill for my dogs for the stay. I explained that I already had paid my bill and as it was 133 more that the quoted price that I assumed the pet fee was in included. I offered for him to cancel if that would help him out due to an obvious misunderstanding. Tyler said it was too late to cancel, which was completely ok; but, he made it appear as if a cancelation was not possible and out of his control as he said it was outside the cancellation window. Out of curiosity, I contacted VRBO on my travel to his rental unit - VRBO said cancellation was in the owner’s control. My experience led me to feel manipulated, especially after he exploited the things he offered that I never asked for and put a monetary value on it. Therefore, I felt his offer was not sincere and was only to secure a rental obligation and then send more fees after. When Tyler offered things that appeared out of kindness, it is difficult to determine if there is an underlining motive because he seems to feel that the complimentary benefits he offer should be greatly appreciated as he points them out to you. In any case, we did finalize our business and I left the unit with care and respect. All correspondences mentioned are included.

The house was clean and welcoming. The four of us enjoyed our stay. The only concern was outside with the garbage cans. They were full and by Saturday there was a horrible odor coming from them.

Clean and comfortable, nice little porch, close to great food and entertainment! A bit noisy in the nighttime but it WAS the weekend and close to campus. Not a good spot if you aren’t able to carry all your things up the stairs to the apartment, but it was perfect for us.

Fantastic place!

My wife and our son stayed 2 nights in the flat while attending ULL orientation. Location is close to everything you need…campus…downtown…great places to eat, all within a short distance. The 2br layout with private full baths work out great. The place was clean and Tyler was easy to work with. This will be our go to when coming to visit our son at ULL.

What a perfect property to stay at. The location is outstanding. You are less than 10 minutes from every point of interest you would really want to do. The information packet they have for the flat gives you some ideas of places to go or eat. I fell in love with the interior design. Cheers!

Add on fees nearly half the cost of the booking

The property was as described. Great location and easy walk to the downtown area, restaurants, etc. Check in was easy and keyless. Not unique to this property but fee fatigue is real with booking through Vrbo. On top of paying a cleaning fee (even though we still need to strip beds, pile towels, empty garbage, etc) and a service fee, the listing requires a property damage protection fee…

Perfect Weekend Stay

Our family of four fit perfectly in this cute/cozy/perfectly-decorated flat. Great location- close to tons of restaurants and shopping. Plenty of space and very well-kept. Beds were comfy and there was plenty of linen. The games for the kids were a life-saver and the instruments were a nice, relaxing touch.

Beautiful Flat

The house was smaller than expected but very nicely kept and the owner was very responsive and accommodating to any questions or issues. The house is right off campus and is a quick drive to anything you might need. The beds could be upgraded to a higher quality mattress with a proper frame and box spring system. The wooden box frame and average quality mattress did not provide the best nights sleep. Additionally, due to the style of the bed frame and small size of the rooms, I managed to knock my shin on the corner several times. This is really the only upgrade I would recommend, again the place was nicely done and had very good customer service.
