The rating for this property was hard to give. I was here for my wedding at Casa de Campo. Overall, the property is immensely clean and the staff in the home were wonderful. I would give them 5 out of 5 stars. The pool is outstanding as well.
My biggest issue with this stay was our concierge. There were some big issues with communication. I did have to follow up with her on several E-mails before coming. I had asked her to have enough groceries for twelve people for breakfast for the days we were here, to rent golf carts, and for her to arrange airport transport too. I has asked her if I needed to fill out a form or provide a credit card to pay for the golf carts and she said no the golf carts would just be at the villa.
The problems started at the airport. When we got outside the airport we were looking for our transfer and could not find it. We called our concierge and texted her and she did not pick up. She did call back a few minutes later and said the driver was at another terminal. It took about another 20 minutes for him to show up. We tried calling her again multiple times while waiting because we were worried we had still missed them. She didn't respond to our calls until we had finally found our driver and were about twenty minutes into our journey.
That night at 9pm two men came to our villa asking for payment for our golf cart rentals. I was never made aware I needed to bring several hundred dollars in cash to pay for the rentals, especially since I had previously asked if I needed to. That was extremely frustrating and inappropriate to have two men show up demanding money at 9pm at night. We had to ask the guys to come back the following day so we could get cash and confirm with that this wasn't a scam. In addition, the concierge never mentioned what we needed to do in order to get more gas for the golf carts, which became an issue later on. The concierge also did not tell the chef to buy the appropriate amount of food, which we found out on our third day when our chef informed us there was not enough.
There were a few issues with the property. Several rooms had issues with showers or no hot water. This property is massive, so I am understanding that upkeep can be challenging. My review for this property is really based on the concierge. There was poor communication and that really affected our stay. Unfortunately, we had several other issues with communication, but there is not enough room to write them out in this review.
